    Dear Anne Beswick

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I know the scenario you met. For this, please be kindly to try the following suggestions and check if these can help.

    1. Make sure that you have the latest version of Outlook installed. You can check for updates by going to File > Office Account > Update Options.
    2. Check if the "Assign Task" button is hidden in the ribbon. Right-click on the ribbon and select "Customize the Ribbon". Look for the "Assign Task" button in the list of commands and make sure it is selected.
    3. If the "Assign Task" button is still missing, try resetting the ribbon to its default settings. Go to File > Options > Customize Ribbon > Reset.
    4. If none of the above steps work, try repairing your Outlook installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office > Change > Repair.

Hope these can help. If there is any update, please feel free to let me know. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely

    Katherine
