I forgot the password for my Windows 10 Mobile phone... can I reset it with my account?

I heard someone say it's possible but I'm not sure if it still works, the account page doesn't really specify. It's not a Windows 8.1/8/7 phone so it's interconnected with my Microsoft account, syncs contact profiles etc.

from Windows / Windows 10 / Windows Hello, lock screen and sign-in

Sorry, I mean I do not want to reset the phone because of all my photos and apps.

    It's personal, @outlook.

    Hello

Please try to change password from account.microsoft.com.

However on your phone it has another security and may not work on phone. Try to check onedrive.com if you can see your photos, else try to changes password then enter it on your phone, hope that this phone was setup using your Microsoft account and must be connected to the internet.

Basically I forgot the passcode, and I want all my photos and apps back. By resetting it I delete everything. However it is connected to my account (personal outlook) so some say you can change the password via that but I don't know, will it work?

    Hello DeferentBison82,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand how frustrating it can be to forget a password, especially when it’s for an essential device like your Windows 10 Mobile phone. Losing access to your phone can disrupt your daily routine and cause anxiety. . Just to set your expectations, we have limited tools to check your account, subscription, and service details in the community. Let me do my best to help you.

    Let me ask you this:

    • I'd like to know what @domain and who hosts your email account. Example @domains: Gmail.com, Yahoo.com Outlook.com/Hotmail.com
      • Can I find out if the account is for work/school use or personal use?
    • May I confirm if you set up your mobile phone using your Microsoft account?
    • Try to login on account.microsoft.com using another device or browser.
    • Try to use the new password on your phone, make sure it is connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to follow:

    1. Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in with the same Microsoft account that you use on your phone.
    2. Click on "Security" and then "Change password."
    3. Follow the prompts to change your password.
    4. Once you have changed your password, restart your phone and enter your new password when prompted.

Please let me know further so I can help more!
