How to delete contact category

I'm having the same problem and cannot understand why Outlook won't have a feature to delete categories / tags, makes no sense. My list is cluttered with categories I no longer need nor use, most have no contacts associated with them but apparently have to live with that . . .

This explains how to remove a category from a contact, but not how to DELETE a contact category! I don't know where it is coming from, but I have a "myContacts" category and I don't want it!

same problem. Category was added after an import task and applied to all contacts imported.

But how to delete the category list itself, and also how to rename the category name.

2. how to view all my contact in a list with in rows with each details contact information

The suggested solution to delete to import category folder doesn't seem to work. I have two such categories, accidentally it generated hundreds of duplicates, and I am trying to delete in lots of ten, as thats the limit set my MS (though I don't understand the rationale for this cap).

2. So, even though the numbers in these categories are reducing, the deleted contacts are piling up. I cannot spend days again to delete the deleted contacts ten by ten, each time, I will go mad.
