Hi Guys,

I am using the most up to date version of Outlook 1.2023.515.100. I am creating a new email signature and have used the Insert Table function to create a professional look. There appears to be no way to remove the border from the table, once the layout is complete. Please help.

Utterly ludicrous that in 2024 we still have to deal with terrible HTML support in Office (sorry Microsoft!!) apps. A way to reliably workaround this is:

    1. Create your signature in Word, formatted as you want it.
    2. Copy and paste as signature in Outlook. Any tables will have collapsed borders. Save it.
    3. Create a new email using the new signature.
    4. On the email, edit the signature to remove the table borders.
    5. Copy and paste the modified email signature back into the signature editor and save it.

Hey presto - the signature now doesn't have table borders!

    Enjoy!

P.S. Microsoft, please get your act together. It's 2024 and we shouldn't be having these issues. Update Office to use Edge HTML rendering so we can all finally use properly formatted emails using full, modern CSS. Yes, you're decades behind the curve so we'll still have to use 90's email formats until everyone get's a properly working Outlook. And despite your daft attempt to rename Office to Microsoft Apps we'll all still refer to Office apps as Office to distinguish the suite from the countless other apps you have. What a complete waste of time and effort that was, when you could have been working on making your apps actually better.

    Dear Mark McDonald2,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

As per the description you have shared, we understand that you have a concern with removing table borders when creating email signature.

We have been testing your query from our end and we are also experiencing same issue as on your end. We understand your concern here and we do apologize for the inconvenience. However, as a workaround, you can edit your signature and remove the table border in Microsoft Word, then copy and paste your signature into New Outlook create signature section or just copy and paste one table with no border from Microsoft Word and edit your signature in the new Outlook create signature section by inserting additional row and columns. You can refer to the screenshot below.

However, thank you for trying New Outlook for Windows and your valuable suggestion. At this point, since New Outlook is still under active development, we will surely raise your concern to our Product Development Team and hopefully this can be included in the future updates. In the meantime, we sincerely recommend you post your valuable suggestion as an idea on our in-app New Outlook feedback site. To provide feedback, go to HelpFeedback. You can refer to Contact support and provide feedback within the new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support

Our Product Development Team are committed to enhancing the customer experience by continually examining suggestions to include in the design and development of future product upgrades based on your suggestions. Hopefully your suggestion will help many users in the future.

Thank you for your precious time, valuable suggestion and understanding. For other concerns, please do not hesitate to add your post in the Microsoft Community Team.

Stay safe and healthy. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely,

I have the same problem! I can remove the border in the body of the email but as soon as I cut and paste it into the email signature the border reappears.

Yeah it's amazing that in 2024 Microsoft can't even provide a way to create an email signature without jumping through ridiculous hoops. And even then most of the time it's all garbled up when you copy/paste it back from Word into Outlook. Why can't we just edit the darn table in Outlook itself? FFS this is so frustrating.

I was having this same issue and have found a solution that worked for me. If I right click to copy the content, I get a border in Outlook > Signatures. You click and drag to select your content from your table, then copy via Ctrl+C and paste into your signature with Ctrl+V, it worked every time. Essentially can't right click copy, and I had to drag select my content and not select the table itself.
