I would like to have view as in first screenshot (1) (this I have in sent emails and I had on inbox too). Now I have view as in second screenshot (2). Change view and reset view doesn't make it as in sent emails folder.

    Hi Martyna Redzisz,

    Good day.

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.

TO restore the default view in the new Outlook, follow these steps:

    1. Open Outlook on your computer.
    2. In the app’s ribbon at the top, select the “View” tab.
    3. In the “Current View” section, choose “Reset View.”
    4. Confirm by selecting “Yes” in the prompt.

Your Outlook view will now be set to the default. If the app still isn’t how you want it, you can further customize it by clicking “Change View” in the same “View” tab and choosing one of three options: “Compact,” “Single,” or “Preview.”

If you encounter any issues, you can also reset the view using a command in Windows’ Run dialog box. Type the following command and press Enter: outlook.exe /cleanviews.

Additionally, if an add-in is causing the problem, launch Outlook in safe mode by typing outlook.exe /safe in the Run dialog box. Then, click “Reset View” in the View tab. If this brings the view back to the default, your add-ins might be the culprit. In that case, disable all add-ins and enable them one by one to identify the problematic one.

I hope this helps let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions .

    Best Regards

I don't have a view reset tab in the view menu. What do I do to get the default view back?

    1. Close Outlook completely.
    2. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
    3. Type: outlook.exe /cleanviews and press Enter.
      • This will delete all custom views and reset the default views for all folders in Outlook.
    4. Open Outlook again, and the view should be reset to the default.

I had told Microsoft that changing it without my say is an offense and against my human rights. I really hate Microsoft for doing that. Why can't they just allow people to have the view they want? I do not understand that. I hate the new look for many things... like my bank now looks better on my phone as well as my outlook rather than my PC. Do not like things changing because someone thinks that it should be that way for their needs...I agree with your frustration
