This browser is no longer supported.

When I do a sort of my Inbox by From (i.e. the Sender), it is not only sorting by From, but also by Date, so it goes from A to Z for today, followed by A to Z for yesterday and so on.
Actually it's sorting by time, but including a separator between each cluster of mail

I was able to contact Support. It was a settings issue. Now resolved. Thanks
Hello Saurabh,
I tried with a different browser, but I'm still getting the same result.
It's not working, I just mentioned the specific behavior in greater detail.
I'm sorry, I should know. How do I contact Microsoft support?
Thanks,
JB
Hi,
Thank you for sharing the issue you’re facing with sorting your Hotmail inbox. It appears that the sorting behavior is not as expected, and emails are being grouped by both sender and date/time, which can be quite inconvenient.
Let’s troubleshoot this . Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:
Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data can cause unexpected behavior. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Log in to Hotmail via a different browser and see if the issue persists.
Check the Filter Options: When searching for emails, ensure that you’re using the correct filter options. In the Outlook web version, you can find the filter menu next to the “All” option. Select “Date” under the “Sort By” filter to arrange emails by date1.
Verify the Version of Outlook: Confirm whether you’re using the classic Outlook.com or the beta version. The filter options and behavior might differ between these versions1.
Test Again: Sometimes, issues resolve spontaneously. You mentioned that it seems to be working correctly again now. If the issue persists, try the steps above and check if the sorting behaviour improves.
Remember that Hotmail should sort emails by date and time, making finding relevant messages easier. If you encounter any further difficulties, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for personalised assistance.
Best Regards, Saurabh
