In Classic Outlook on Windows 10 I had the option for "Always use single line layout"

I cannot find that option any where on Outlook under Windows 11 (classic or new outlook.

Can anyone tell me where to find it please?

I have also been looking through threads for an answer and by fluke have managed to make mine single line by having my reading pane on the right hand side, and adjusting the width between the inbox and reading pane to make the width of the inbox wider and the reading pane shorter and it worked

Not sure if any of these make a difference but my settings are:

Density: CompactMessage height: Switch between one/mutliple

Message preview text: Hide preview text

    Shoddy screenshot below:

I am also looking for the option to view my list of messages with the Single Line layout in New Outlook. I do not see the option in View>View Settings. I do see a setting called "Message Height", with two options - "Always use Multiple Rows", and "Switch between one and multiple rows based on screen size", but nothing for "Always use Single Line Layout"

I am going back to Old Outlook because i miss how many messages I could scan at a glance with the Single Line layout

Microsoft needs to learn "if it's not broken don't fix it", I have the same problem but no where does it tell you online how to remedy the situation.

Don't see this in the new Outlook - there is no way to say Always use single-line layout. That sucks. I have to go back to the old outlook until this is fixed (hopefully soon)
