How do I solve the "500: Too many redirects" error for my personal Outlook account?

Hello, I use the Outlook Web App to use rules and folders for a linked Gmail account. I can login to Outlook. But when I click on the Gmail account and enter my credentials, the URL changes a few times and I see "Error 500: Too many redirects." I have tried several solutions with no luck:

  • Logging in via incognito mode or another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave)
  • Restarting my PC
  • Clearing my cache and cookies
  • Syncing my time settings on my PC
  • Using the Microsoft Assistance and Recovery Tool

I have seen suggestions to remove admin roles on my account, but this account is not tied to an organization and I do not see the suggested Admin app.

Any additional help would be appreciated.

    Peter,

    That is unacceptable. 365 doesn't not meet my needs if it is unable to sort emails via my primary email account, which I have been using for several years. Outlook was able to process my emails through Gmail perfectly fine before and I do not understand why that has changed. I am cancelling my subscription.

    I've got the same problem and have had for over 18 months.

    Microsoft have been terrible with updating it or providing help, so eventually we just gave up.

    We have nothing to do with Gmail etc. Everything is hosted on Microsoft or outlook servers etc so there really should be no excuse for Microsoft to not work.

    It's not good enough.

    I am able to use the Desktop version of Outlook and access my Gmail account, but I cannot use Rules. I purchased 365 specifically to use Rules for my email accounts.

    Could you please provide a picture of the error you have been getting for more information?

    (Please remove your private information)

    We also recommend that you use our outlook for new application to set up your gmail account and see if it works properly.
