Hi there,

I have Outlook for Mac but still enjoy using the Legacy Version. However, I am having problems adding the Zoom 'Microsoft Outlook Add-in'. Is it possible to do this and if so, how? Thanks

I will die before I switch to the absolute failure called New Outlook Experience. How people responsible are not getting fired for this abomination of an email client is beyond me.

This is so frustrating. So there are some things that won't work with the legacy Outlook for Mac. And a LOT of things that don't work yet on the New Outlook. And some are for the same tasks. EXAMPLE:

    * I want to create a meeting with an Outlook contact.

NEW OUTLOOK - have to manually add the person because New Outlook stopped recognizing people in my contacts when I start typing. But the Zoom plugin works.

LEGACY OUTLOOK - recognizes people in my contacts, but there is no Zoom plugin any longer.

Is it too much to ask that you get at least ONE fully functional client for managing mail/calendar/contacts??

Hi Chris Greetings! Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I will be happy to help. I am a user just like you and only trying to advice/ assist in the best possible way to resolve your issue.

Unfortunately, due to Apple and Microsoft enhancing security restrictions, the Zoom Outlook plugin is no longer supported on the Legacy version of Outlook for Mac. Here's why and your best options:

Why It's Not Supported: Security Restrictions: Legacy Outlook for Mac uses injection-based plugins. These are increasingly blocked by Apple due to security vulnerabilities. Microsoft's Focus: Microsoft is prioritizing the development of the "New" Outlook for Mac and their add-ins align with that platform.

    Your Options:

Switch to the "New" Outlook for Mac: The Zoom Outlook add-in is fully supported in the "New Outlook" experience. You can find the toggle switch in the top-left menu bar of Outlook. " Instructions on installing the Zoom add-in can be found on the Zoom Support website: [ https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115005223126 ] "

Use the Web Version of Zoom: You can still schedule Zoom meetings through Zoom's web interface Lose some direct integration with Outlook's calendar this way. Look for Alternative Add-ins (Limited):

Search the internet for "Outlook meeting add-in for Mac legacy". You might find some niche add-ins, but they're unlikely to be as well-supported as Zoom's add-in. Important: Even while using some add-ins on Legacy Outlook for Mac might work temporarily, there's no guarantee that future updates by Apple or Microsoft won't break their functionality entirely.

Recommendation: It's highly recommended that you transition to the "New" version of Outlook for Mac to ensure compatibility and reliable performance of add-ins like the Zoom Outlook add-in.
