Hi there,

I'm experiencing some difficulties with my newly created Hotmail account as I'm not receiving emails, and they aren't appearing in my inbox. I've already taken the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Ensured a stable internet connection
  • Verified inbox settings
  • Cleared out my inbox
  • Checked the spam folder
  • Whitelisted senders
  • Emptied the deleted items folder
  • Updated my browser
  • Scanned for malware

Despite these efforts, I'm still unable to receive emails, even after attempting to whitelist.

Can you please help me to resolve this issue?

Thank you

Regards,

I've tried several times to contact Support with no response. I chatted with the person listed below (7047425971 now closed). I tried to re-open or start a new chat - but no luck.

I thought "nikhil"  Microsoft Support had this fixed earlier, because he put in a lot of time, and it seemed to work but now it's not working. When people use the email address that I set up with my IP years ago, this one email address doesn't appear in my "Outlook Live " in box" but does show in my IPs email program. (Zimbra). I re-entered the address in my "safe sender Domain " list, but it didn't help. Keep in mind that my IP mail (Zimbra) is getting all the emails that were sent to Outlook/Hotmail - from junk mail or from whomever. Please, I need help. I get many reminders etc. from Utilities, insurances & others in Hotmail and don't want to miss. You're more than welcome to use Quick assist. Stick111

A TEMPORARY FIX FOR NO INCOMING HOTMAIL EMAILS.

First thing to do is make a NEW hotmail address for yourself through microsoft, set it up and test it to make sure that it works

Next login to the troublesome hotmail address, no emails, ok, click the settings gear icon ( third from the right ) on the outlook toolbar,

on this page under the layout heading you will see, all most at the bottom of the list, FORWARDING, click this link, it will now ask you to sign in, click the ENABLE FORWARDING button,

you will see a page that has ENABLE turned on, and it says FORWARD MY EMAIL TO:

now type in the box shown your NEW email address,

All emails to your original troublesome hotmail will now be sent to your alternate new address,

NOW the good part of this workaround, simply tick the box, Keep a copy of forwarded messages.

All emails sent to your NEW email address will appear daily in your original email inbox without having to look every day at your new email address,

We all hope the microsoft will eventually come up with a patch for this problem but until then this will stop you from ripping your hair out, raymond lockett

    Dear Michael Hall9

    Thank you for your reply

If you only need to receive one specific email, you can try the following scenario.

Deliver all incoming emails to inbox by date

you can create a rule based on time in outlook web version. The process is as follows: Click [Settings] - [Mail] - [Rules] - [Add] in the upper right corner. First of all, you need to create a new name for your rule to prevent you from misidentifying it, add the condition of selecting [later than] choose the day before your current date as the condition of content. Then add the operation select [Move to] - [Inbox] at the same time you need to tick [stop processing other rules], after setting the rule again click to send verification information. If you still can't receive the verification email. Then it means that the email has not been sent to the assigned mail delivery server.

This reply may not directly address your issue, so feel free to let me know how it goes any time by repling below.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm having the same issue. I can get junk mail, but nothing else. And have checked all folders and settings. I had setup my hotmail as my 2FA for some services, but now can't receive the codes to authenticate. And I can't change the emails without the 2FA. No other recovery options.

    Dear Ezra Mitchell

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

I understand that you are experiencing a problem with not being able to receive emails!

Based on your description that you updated your browser, you should be experiencing the issue while using the web version of outlook mailbox, right? I need to know if you are creating a hotmail account for messages or are you importing your hotmail account? Due to the fact that we are using translation software to communicate, I am unable to accurately understand your situation.

You mentioned that you have checked your network configuration, and I would like to know if you have VPN proxy software or local proxies turned on, which could also be the reason why you are not receiving emails properly.

When you check the whitelisted emails, have you also checked the [Filter] under the same tab, please keep the two options of [Filter] unchecked.

You can find the options of [Rules], [Collate] and [Forwarding] under [Settings] - [Mailbox] to check whether there are any conditions or rules that prevent your account from receiving emails and whether your emails are forwarded to other mailboxes.

You can also use the [Forwarding] function to automatically forward the emails you receive to the mailboxes you have set up under this setting, which may temporarily solve the problem that you cannot receive emails.

Can you please do a test? I need you to log in the local New Outlook application, because New Outlook is essentially developed based on HTML, so your operations in the web version of outlook and New Outlook are more or less the same. With New Outlook the Windows notification bar will pop up when you receive an email to indicate that you have received a new email. This is a very effective way of checking whether you have received any emails in your account.

This reply may not directly address your issue, Please tell me more about the problem you are experiencing so that I can better assist you.

I look forward to hearing from you!
