Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments

I just want to be clear about the New Outlook.
In other threads I have learned:
The "new Outlook" is not a replacement of the Outlook desktop program (part of Office). It is completely separate and distinct. It IS a replacement of the Windows 10 / 11 Mail / People / Calendar app.
I use both Windows Mail and Outlook delivered with Microsoft 365. In Windows Mail, there is a toggle switch to "Try the New Outlook." I get that. But why is there also a toggle switch in Outlook 365 if New Outlook is not a replacement for it?
Thanks, CB

The new outlook is terrible to say the least. I am so frustrated with this version and just want it to look the same as previous versions with the same functionality. The web app desktop version appears differently to the sign in web version and the old version is not the same as what I am used to at work. IT SUCKS!!! HATE IT!!! WHY change it and remove functions that were time saving. The main things for me is autotext, templates WHERE ARE THEY. I CANT ADD THEM OR ACCESS THEM.
The new Outlook for Windows offers the most popular features and configurations from the current desktop version of Outlook for Windows.
I don't even know how you can reply and include this. Very few features that actually make Outlook Desktop (The paid version with Microsoft 365) useful and ideal for office productivity are available in the new version. Infact the versions are so different; I personally feel it was a mistake by Microsoft to call both programs Outlook.
It is truly a big shame that this Outlook app is offered as an alternative to Office Outlook... "Try the new Outlook" in the upper right corner of Office Outlook. You expect an improved version of Office Outlook, but instead you get a stripped-down email application in return. It's not even close! It would have been useful to know IN ADVANCE what you were getting and not just after Office Outlook was replaced by this nonsense!
I understand that Microsoft prefers to have all apps online/in the cloud, but many users do not want that and need the maximum functionality that Office Outlook offers! Stop digging your own grave, Microsoft.
The problem I am having ( and I suspect that others are too, based on the message from Microsoft indicating they are inundated iwth issues, and please try back later!) is:
I stupily decided to do the Try the New Outlook button. Ah if only i could back 24 hours. Micrrosoft deleted my paid for version of Office 2013 - literally wiped it off the laptop. That wouldn't be so bad if my attempt to sign into the new Outlook gives me an error about language, and when I choose troubleshooting, it tells me too bad, so sad, we can't fix it.
So, I'm stuck. I can get email from my ISP but forget the calendar which has everything i need to do for the next year.
Thank you so much, Microsoft. As soon as I get this resolved, one way or the other, I'm outta here. I've been using your products for over 30 years.
