All my emails have vanished from the outlook app on IOS and on desktop

So this might be a long shot and hopefully someone can help me or guide me in the right direction here. Today when I got home around 2:40pm I went to my outlook app on my IOS device and to my surprise there was zero emails in my inbox. I checked my other folders as well and still nothing. I rebooted the app, deleted and added the account again, nothing changed. I’ve contacted the support through the app and they were no help at all. I’ve also logged into my email account on a desktop computer and there was still no emails there. Are all my emails gone forever now or is this an issue on Microsoft’s end with outlook? Maybe there is a sequence of events I can go through to maybe recover all my emails.

    Thank you for the updates.

    I am not sure if the emails can be retrieved if not in the deleted Item folder and they are not in the Recover deleted items. The emails must have been deleted by the hackers which might make it difficult to have the emails again except you have a local back on your PC.

    Let me allow other experts to give their input on this. Ruth

    Hey Ruth,

    First off thank you for replying. I have tried every step that you suggested and I have had zero luck with any of it. I have gone in and added the Microsoft authentication app to my log in steps to better protect my account, as well as beefing up my password. I did find suspicious activity where there was a successful Sync preformed from Germany, this was around the time I lost all my emails. Knowing information now about the successful sync from Germany is there any way of recovering my emails at all?

    Sign in to outlook.com on the web Confirm your emails are not missing

    Check Deleted Items Folder: First, sign in to your Outlook account. Look for the “Deleted Items” folder on the left-hand side menu. If your emails were accidentally deleted, they might still be there. You can restore them by selecting the email and clicking “Restore.”

    Recover Deleted Items: Sometimes, emails are permanently deleted from the Deleted Items folder. In Outlook, right-click on “Deleted Items” and choose “Recover deleted items.” Use the search function to locate the deleted email, select it, and click “Recover.”

    Check Junk Email Folder: If you suspect an email was marked as spam, check the “Junk Email” folder. Select the email and mark it as “Not Junk” if necessary.

    Confirm there is no suspicious login attempt on your account Confirm no forwarding rule setup on your account if yes delete the rules Confirm your recent activity and that no unknown device is connected to your account.
