Send/Receive Error - Outlook

I need help with Microsoft Outlook. I'm an old person and not tech savvy. I have tried all the suggestions people have given me with no results. I'm getting a send/receive error in Outlook. It just started two days ago. I have contacted my internet provider and they tried everything they could think of with no results. It is IMAP and all of my settings are correct. I called Geek Squad - they could not help either. I'm a total Tech Support user and I purchased my new computer and Office 365 from them. Outlook is trying to send a phantom email - every time I open Outlook it tries to send this same non-existent email. There is nothing in my outbox. I would pay to get this fixed - but I need someone to help. I've tried reading the directions on various sites and I cannot locate the buttons they tell me to go to. If there is a video that would be great. I'm desperate.

    Dear V Morris,

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community.

According to its description,You are getting send/receive errors in Outlook. It just started two days ago. You've contacted your internet provider and they've tried everything they can think of with no luck. It's IMAP and all your settings are correct. You call Geek Squad - there's nothing they can do.

Since the community is more discussion-based, I don't have the authority to check your account directly.

You could try a different device, a different network.

Log into webmail and see if you can send and receive emails properly.

Update your outlook, usually newer versions have better compatibility.

    Reconfigure your email account.

You can also try New support request (office.com)

I also recommend contacting our online account support team.

The following links can be used to contact the account's customer support team:

    1. Open the website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the "We're Here for You" box below, type MSA, click "Get help," and then click "Contact Customer Service" below.
    3. In this section, you need to sign up for a personal Microsoft account

Note: You can only sign up with a personal MSA, and enterprise accounts won't display the correct content. If you can't link the account, you can use a different account or create a new one to run it.

    1. In the "Products & Services" section, select "Other Products", select "Manage Account Security" as the category, and click Confirm
    2. You can select "Chat with a support expert in a web browser" to enter the chat window.

Note: Please contact our support team during local business hours.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

I wish you all the best.

    Best regards

We were able to contact the Microsoft support team per your suggestion - we requested a phone conversation - because the problem was just too confusing to discuss in a chat box. Microsoft called us and then logged onto our computer and fixed the problem - such a great relief.

    Thank you for your response.
