Microsoft Stream screen sharing only shows a black screen but the camera works, how to fix teh screen sharing?

I have a customer with an issue with Microsoft streams where the screen sharing is appearing as a black screen.

It does not matter whether the customer tries to share the full screen, a specific window or a tab on Microsoft edge. Every situation results in the screen being shown as black even after the preview shows the screen in the window that the customer wants to show. but once selecting the screen and clicking share the countdown appears but once the screen recording starts then the recording screen turns black and it is impossible to see what is trying to be shared.

The issue seems to have started recently as the program was working last week and just started having issues. The customer just wants to record a PowerPoint presentation

Is there anything that I am missing that could resolve this issue, it seems like something brand new to us and is not very common?

I am confirming that it is Microsoft Streams

I will try to ask them to try a different browser

Update: I was informed that the application is working on and off and seems inconsistent but it started to work a little bit.

Changing to a different browser results in an error for the customer.

    Hello Kris,

Greetings. Thank you for reaching out.

Just to confirm, are you using Microsoft Stream or Microsoft Teams?

->Have you tried using a different browser and check if there is any difference?

In the meantime, if you are using Microsoft Teams, we do have separate community team, so, it is recommended to post via Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Community, so that a support agent from this team can check and provide you required information. At this moment, your kind cooperation and understanding will be highly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your precious time. Stay safe and healthy.

    Sincerely,

    Ashraf.
