Outlook.com emails being rejected and returned by sbcglobal.net, att.net

I am aware of other questions being posted regarding this issue, but most seem to directed to corporate email, and not individual home users as myself.

As best as I can tell this problem started yesterday, August 6, 2024, when any email I sent to an sbcglobal.net or att.net email recipient was rejected and returned with the following message:

Undeliverable: Fw: PRAYER BREAKFAST, SAT AUG 10, 2024, 8 AM, at MIMI's CAFE

To: You Wed 8/7/2024 5:15 PM

This message is able to be sent again Send again

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

<recipient email address>

Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, the recipient's email system refused to accept a connection from your email system. Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that their email system is refusing connections from your email server. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

The remaining information contained in the bounce message applied to email administrators, which is not applicable to me as a home user.

This problem occurs on both my windows 11 laptop, and my iPhone 13, and occurs with both classic Outlook and new Outlook. It occurs rather I send to a single recipient to multiple recipients in my contacts list.

I was able to send emails to these recipients as late as last Friday, August 2, 2024.

What solutions does Microsoft have to help resolve this issue?

    Linda,

As I have also read other replies and responses to my post, it does not seem that Microsoft is missing the point that we are all HOME users, NOT a corporate user who has the luxury of an IT department.

You reply states that I should reach out to my email service provider. I have an outlook.com email account set up via Microsoft website. Therefore, MICROSOFT is my email service provider, which is why I posted the question to begin with.

To state and clarify again ANY email I send to a sbcglobal.net, att.net, yahoo.net recipient gets bounced back from.

Has Microsoft reached out to AT&T to resolve

I am having the exact same problem. These are all home users. The fact that if I send from my gmail account they go through points to an issue between Outlook and Sbcglobal.net and Att.net. We are all home users, Outlook is my email service provider. How do I contact them? Via this MS message board?

    Janice:

One would think the outlook folks would jump all over this issue and give us specific instructions on what can be done on our end, do we have to do something in our settings, etc. Windows put out a new update just a few days ago and reset all settings to default. I wonder if that caused an issue with outlook old and new versions?

If not an outlook issue, have they communicated with Sbcglobal.net, att.net and ameritech.net. I found the following regarding common ownership based on the following links.

    Who owns SBCGlobal.net? (vimbuzz.com)

    Ameritech - Wikipedia

It looks to me that the common ownership is ATT.net.

So..., one would think whatever options ATT.net offered their subscribers on their ability to keep their old email address or convert to a new email address might be where the issue is but that doesn't solve OUR issue of communicating with them.

Whoever is administering Outlook, old and new versions needs to step up to the plate and let us know what we have to do or I would think it is time to move on to a new email platform.
