    Dear Mary Macina,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

To answer your question, if you are using classic Outlook, Yes, you can transfer your old emails from one account to another. The easiest way to do this is by using the Import/Export feature in Outlook. Here are the steps to follow:

    1. Launch you Outlook for Windows app.
    2. Go to File menu, select Open & Export
    3. Select Import/Export
    4. Select Export to a File, and then select Next.
    5. Select Outlook Data File (.pst), and then select Next.
    6. Select the account you want to export the .pst file and check include subfolders checkbox and then select Next.
    7. Select Browse, and then select the location where you want the new .pst file to be saved on your Windows device.
    8. In the File Name box, type the name that you want to use for the new .pst file, and then click OK.
    9. Select Finish to complete the export process.

Note: by default, Outlook is set to download email for the past 1 year to your device. If you want to export all your emails or more than a year, please kindly open Outlook, select Account settings > Account Name and Sync Settingsand move the slider to All. Then, continue exporting your folder following the above steps.

After exporting, you can go to your new account and import the exported email files. Here are the steps to import your old emails to Outlook:

    1. Open Outlook and go to the File tab.
    2. Click on Open & Export and then select Import/Export.
    3. In the Import and Export Wizard, select Import from another program or file and click Next.
    4. SelectOutlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
    5. Browse to the location of your old email file you previously exported and select it.
    6. Choose the option to import the file into your current Outlook profile and click Next.
    7. Select the folder where you want to import your old emails (select your new email account folder) and click Finish.

Once the import process is complete, you should be able to access your old emails in Outlook. For additional information, you can refer to Export or backup email, contacts, and calendar to an Outlook .pst file - Microsoft Support and Import email, contacts, and calendar from an Outlook .pst file - Microsoft Support

I look forward to your update. Please feel free to let me know if there are any questions or I've got your wrong. I will keep assisting you based on the information you provide. I sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Hi Libeamlak,

I have gone through the process above a number of times, and it hasn't worked. I am trying to export my outlook data from a surface windows 10 to a new Lenovo pc with windows 11 with a different email address - outlook instead of bigpond email. Is there an alternate way of doing this?

    thanks

    Heather

Can the export/import process also be completed using CSV?
