If you are using a Mac, the problem is with Safari. See my post dated May 17th for two options on how to fix it.

The first one (changing settings in Safari) allows you to choose which websites you allow pop-ups and links to open in.

The second one (leave Safari settings as they are and right-click on pop-ups or links) allows you to choose, on a case by case basis, which pop-ups or links to open and how to open them.

If you just want a simple way to allow all pop-ups and links to open on all websites, you could try this:

Open Safari but don't have any websites open. At the top-left of your screen, click on the word 'Safari', then 'Settings'. A box will open on your screen. On the left hand side of the box, where it says General, there is a list (Content Blockers, Auto-Play, Page Zoom, etc, etc). Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click on 'Pop-up Windows'. Now, in the bottom right-hand corner of the box you will see 'When Visiting other websites' and next to it it will say 'Block and Notify' or 'Block'. Click on the arrows and change this setting to 'Allow'. That should allow all pop-ups and links on all websites to open.

If you don't want to allow all pop-ups on all websites to open, go back and read my post dated May 17th.

    Hope this helps

I also am having this problem effective May 12. It happens on my desktop only (phone and tablet still operate just fine/normal).

I found the issue to be with Safari. So went to Safari at top of screen, opened Preferences, went to websites across top of window, scrolled down to pop-up windows on right side of window and changed Outlook.live.com to "allow". That worked for me.

Yes, that works Marion. Thanks. Although the commands show up as slightly different on my computer: Click Safari at top left of screen, then Settings, then Websites along the top of the box that opens, scroll down left-hand side of box to Pop-Up Windows, choose the website you want to alter from the list on the right-hand side, change setting to Allow. The website must be open in Safari in order for it to show up on the list.

However, I found another option if you're using a desktop with a mouse. Leave the Pop Up setting at Block and Notify. This means that, as before, when you click on a link within an email it will not open and 'Pop-Up Window Blocked' will appear at the top of your screen. But, if you right-click on the link, you will be offered a number of options for opening it: Open in new Tab, Open in new Window, Download as File, etc. You can then choose whether or not to open the link and how you want to open it.
