Date change when importing emails to Outlook

Hi Team,

While importing .pst or .csv file to outlook, the original timestamp of the email is changed to the time it was imported instead of showing up the time when it was received or sent initially. Is there a way to reflect that?

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Dear  Meenakshi _ Thanks for your response! This is because Outlook uses the import date as the received date by default.

However, there is a way to reflect the original timestamp of the email. You may need to use a third-party tool or script to modify the received date of the emails in the PST or CSV file before importing them into Outlook.

Please note: Microsoft does not endorse or support third-party tools or scripts, so it is important to use them at your own risk.

Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day! Sincerely,Allen | Community Moderator

    Hi Allen,

    Thank you for your response!!

The datetime on other platform is correct and I am trying to import the email data through .csv file while has below header sections:

So once imported, it shows the inserted time instead of reflecting the one when email was first sent or received. Is there a way to reflect that?

Let me know if you need any other information.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

Dear Meenakshi _ Good day!Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist! Based on your description, I understand you concern with Date changed when importing emails to Outlook

May I know whether the time zone settings on your computer are different from the time zone settings on the computer where the emails were originally sent or received?

If yes, you may have a try to change the time zone settings on your computer to match the time zone settings on the computer where the emails were originally sent or received.

In the meanwhile, to maintain the original timestamp of the emails, you may have a try using the Import and Export in Outlook, you can refer to Import and export Outlook email, contacts, and calendar - Microsoft Support. Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!Best regards,Allen | Community Moderator
