    Dear Marc R(YM)

It is a pleasure to receive your reply.

    Let's sort out your problem.

The email STMP server used by Numericable has two different addresses: 'smtp.numericable.fr' and 'smtps.numericable.fr'.

In this case, there may be some confusion or misunderstanding, especially in connection with the Courier W10 mail service.

New Outlook can only use the 'smtps.numericable.fr' server address, while 'smtp.numericable.fr' is used for Courier W10.

This can lead to confusion, as sometimes people may think that the two server addresses can be used interchangeably, but in fact there may be a difference in certain cases.

    • 'smtps.numericable.fr' is a required server address for the new Outlook.
    • 'smtp.numericable.fr' may still be available, but may be more appropriate for the Courier W10 mail service than for the new Outlook.

Therefore, for the new Outlook, make sure to use 'smtps.numericable.fr' as the server address to ensure that you are able to send and receive email successfully.

I'm glad your issue was finally resolved.

Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm.

I have solved the problem !

New Outlook only works with Server 'smtps.numericable.fr' which is mandatory (with a "S")

It was not clear at all at Numericable since 'smtp.numericable.fr' is uses for Courier W10 for a long time

Sometimes, they say one or the other is indifferent. Yes but for Courier W10 only in fact !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Yoko

    My answers :

    1. Microsoft personal account
    2. this happening to all SENT emails for my SMTP accounts (Reception works)
    3. I have not change my PWD. Removal of the SMTP account and recreating it give the same thing.

Always the same "reject message" from the Numericable SMTP server (Given in my first message)

    1. Using of SMTP port 587 with TLS give nothing. The mail stays in New Outlook and never send.

I suggest that MICROSOFT support enter in contact with SFR/Numericable because, there must be a mis configuration in that operator for New Outllook or something else.

(Traditionnal MSFT mail client works well for years already)

Impossible to give a new product NOT USABLE with an SMTP configuration.

Solve this problem for all the customers, PLEASE

    Dear Marc R(YM),

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

Understand your feelings. Sorry for your inconvenience in using it. In order to better help, can you tell me the following issues? Thanks in advance.

1.What is the type of account you are using? Is it a work/school account or a Microsoft/personal account like Gmail/Hotmail/outlook.com?

2.Is this happening to all emails or to specific senders?

3.if you are using an IMAP account and you have recently changed my email password, please update your email account password via the Outlook Account screen. You can also try to remove and re-add the account again.

Normally, SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) servers use the following ports to send mail:

    • Port 25: This is the commonly used SMTP default port, but some ISPs may block access to port 25. you can try using other ports to send mail.
    • Port 587: This is another common SMTP port, often used for encrypted communications such as STARTTLS. many mail servers support the use of this port for sending mail.

Therefore, if you want to use smtp.numericable.fr to send mail, it is recommended to try the following port settings: Port 587 allows you to send mail using STARTTLS encryption.

Since new outlook is a free version, many of the features are not complete enough, so there will be a lot of inconvenience in using it. If possible, you can try to switch to an older version of outlook which may solve this problem for you. About how to switch to the old version of outlook, you can refer to this link. Toggling out of the new Outlook for Windows preview - Microsoft Support

Meanwhile, we will feedback this issue and try to improve the new outlook as much as possible.

    Best regards
