Hello, when I try to apply an email named 'xxx'(example) end of outlook.com, it tell me 'the email has been applyed'. But when I try to send a letter with other e-mail to outlook.com, it tell me 'the e-mail does not exists'. I ensure the name of e-mail is legal, and I apply hotmail.com with the same name successfully.

What should I do? I have emergency requirement to apply xxx end of outlook.com .

Please help me solve it as soon as possible, thanks!

    Dear Tom135295,

Thanks for getting back to us.

I sincerely apologize for any trouble it has caused. If you want to apply an alias from other e-mail provider, please remember that the primary alias must be reserved for Microsoft domain such as hotmail.com. Otherwise, a default e-mail address【outlook_[*long string of letters and numbers*]@outlook.com】will be generated and you will not be able to send and receive e-mails with this address properly.

Feel free to contact me if there are any further updates on this issue, I'm here to help you further if needed.

    Best Regards,

Stan - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

    Dear Tom135295,

Thanks for reaching out here in Microsoft Community.

After reading, I realize that you are most likely applying for an already closed outlook.com. Here's a detailed clarification, which can explain what happened to you.

Beginning July 1, 2019, if someone has completely closed an account with a Microsoft domain (i.e., @hotmail.com, @outlook.com, @live.com or @msn.com), the account will be permanently deleted from our system and can no longer be used to send or receive email.

This means that this Microsoft account will not be able to re-register or add as an alias account using the same email address. There is no other way for us to recover the account.

You can apply a Microsoft account with a different name, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I hope my suggestion has been helpful to you.

If you have any questions, please let me know and I will work with you until this issue is solved.

    Best Regards,

Stan - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
