Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue where the Microsoft Teams add-in is missing from Outlook. Despite several troubleshooting attempts, the problem persists. Here's a summary of the steps I've taken so far:

  1. Used the Teams Add-in Missing in Outlook diagnostic tool: The tool indicated that Teams isn’t installed, but I confirmed that it is installed.
  2. Used Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant: This tool did not resolve the issue.
  3. Signed out and back in to Microsoft Teams: No change in the issue.
  4. Uninstalled New Microsoft Teams and performed an Office 365 Online repair:
  5. System Reboot and Reinstalled New Microsoft Teams: Reinstalling Teams did not fix the problem. The add-in still did not appear.
  6. Installed classic Teams using winget install Microsoft.Teams.Classic: This did not resolve the issue either.
  7. Executed manual registration of the add-in DLL:
    • Closed Outlook.
    • Opened Command Prompt as Administrator.
    • Navigated to C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Microsoft\TeamsMeetingAddin\1.0.24151.2\x86.
    • Executed regsvr32 Microsoft.Teams.AddinLoader.dll.
    • Restarted the machine.

Despite these efforts, the Teams add-in still does not appear in Outlook. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any additional suggestions for resolving it?

Thank you for your assistance!

Edit: If I'm trying to uninstall Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office from Installed apps or Control Panel, I'm receiving the following error message:
"The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."

"The source is 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_2410.22....' and when I try to open 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps', it prompts me for privileged access. Although I have integrated this access into our internal remote tool, it is still denying me access."

Edit 2: I've checked for deactivated Addins, Recreated Outlook Profile, add Loadbehavior DWORD and set it to 3 as well. Didn't help.

Solution: Resolving Missing Microsoft Teams Add-in in Outlook

    1. Uninstalling and Cleaning Up Old Teams Versions:

    • Uninstall the New Microsoft Teams:
      • Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, locate the New Microsoft Teams, and uninstall it.
    • Clean Up Old Teams Installation:
      • Follow the Clean Up and Redeployment procedure outlined in the Microsoft Teams MSI Deployment article. This ensures that any residual files or settings from previous installations are removed.

    2. Installing Classic Teams:

    • Download the Classic Teams Version:
    • Install Classic Teams:
      • Run the installer for Classic Teams.

    3. Register and Update:

    • Open Classic Teams and Configure Settings:
      • Launch Classic Teams and navigate to settings. Ensure the option "Register the new Teams as the chat app for Microsoft 365" is checked.
    • Search for Updates:
      • Use the search for updates option within Classic Teams. This triggers the installation of the New Teams.

    4. Uninstall Classic Teams and Verify Add-in Functionality:

    • Uninstall Classic Teams:
      • After the update process completes and the New Teams is installed, uninstall Classic Teams.
    • Verify the Add-in in Outlook:
      • Check if the Microsoft Teams add-in is now appearing and functioning correctly in Outlook.

These are the steps I tried today and I could confirm the functionality with my end-user. It looks like there was a software conflict generated between old teams and new teams. I hope this helps.

    Hello,

I experience the same issue like you George Trandafirescu. I've follow the instructions from the solution provided but at the end when I open Outlook and check Add-Ins Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Office is stuck in a previews version of a New Teams in Inactiv state.

In Add Remove Programs I've checked and it doesn't appear and for this reason it can be visible the folder TeamsMeetingAdd-in from %LocalAppData%\Microsoft.

Can you give us support ?

    Thank you in advance !
