Hi @Microsoft, when will you fix this. You've forced a bad unfinished product (New Outlook) on users. We have mail-enabled security groups and Distribution groups who's owners can't edit them after switching to new outlook. We as admins can't manage 100s of groups.

What is the deal with the Distribution Lists in the new Outlook. First it tells me to create a group, which I do, then when I save it it tells me i can't add any more groups because I have too many. I have none. Then it tells me to try my gmail - which also has no groups.

Then I go into my contact lists and there is the Group but it is empty with no way to add anyone.

Then I go to Contacts and create a Contact List. It let's me do it but when I go to my address book to select it, it does not appear. I go back to the contact list - it is actually there - and it says send email. I click on that, the list appears and I complete the email in the body of the message with an attachment. I hit send - it says it failed to send and gives me a link for details on why it didn't send. I click on that link and the information doesn't appear. Everything I set up is gone. I try again, send the email, and it says it fails.

Outlook was a great product but this version is absolutely horrible. You took a proven product that worked for 20 years and managed to create garbage.

Now, once and for all - I want to be able to create multiple distribution lists, click on that group contact, and send an email. How do I do that? Clearly others are having the same issue.

Where are we with this? I have three private email address groups all working under what was supposed to be a better Outlook. Right now - it’s useless to me with the business distributions groups.

    Dear Madan Pulletikurthi,

Good day! Thank for posting in the community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble managing distribution groups in the new Outlook for Windows.

Beginning in August 2023, managing distribution groups will no longer be possible from Outlook on the web even new outlook. Administrators should manage their organization’s distribution groups in the Exchange admin center. Non-administrators who want to manage or join distribution groups can do so by navigating to this portal.

    Reference : https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/distribution-groups-e8ba58a8-fab2-4aaf-8aa1-2a304052d2de

However, I can confirm that Microsoft is not trying to force admins to update DL to M365 group.

If you're still unable to manage distribution groups using these steps, please let me know and I'll be happy to assist you further.

At this point, we appreciate your patience and cooperation. Thank you.  Eben | Sincerely,Community moderator
