How do i remove a corporate account from outlook ios if i no longer have access to the account?

I recently changed jobs. Outlook on my iPhone was setup for 'old corporation' under a managed device plan. I have removed the device from the management plan.

I now want to configure outlook for my 'new corporation' email. However, when I open outlook i only see the option to "add account" and it displays the account from 'old corporation'. When i click on this it asks me to authenticate on the 'old corporation' federeated authorization mechanism.

I have removed and reinstalled outlook multiple times to no avail.

Thank you.

Not sure if you have found the solution after two months, but I want to share what was working for me, in case it would also working for you and any one else encounters this issue in future.

So before I found this issue. I've already deleted the corporate account from the settings -> Mail -> Account and also deleted the profile in vpn and device management, but when I installed Outlook app it still shows the corporate email address.

    What I did was:

    1. Install Teams app, in login screen, I see the corporate email account there along with my other outlook emails.
    2. Click on the Edit button on top right corner of that screen, there will be a delete button shown for each email.
    3. Delete the corporate email here, there is a dialog shown asking me if I want to delete this account from this device. Confirm it.
    4. I uninstalled both Teams and Outlook, and then restarted iPhone.
    5. After restarted, reinstall Teams and Outlook, the corporate email is gone for me now.

Not sure if 4 and 5 is required, but I just wanted to make sure any cache left are cleared by restarting.

Hope it works for you, and anyone else may hit the same issue in the future. :)

    Good luck.

    Hello Claiborne Schmidt,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties with removing an old corporate Outlook account and adding a new one on your iOS phone.

To remove a corporate account from Outlook on your iOS device, please follow these steps:

    1. Open the Outlook app and tap on your "profile" icon.
    2. Tap on the "Settings" gear icon at the bottom right of the screen.
    3. Under the "Accounts" section, locate the account you wish to remove.
    4. Tap on the account to access its settings.
    5. Scroll down and select "Delete Account."
    6. Confirm your decision to remove the account.

If you have already removed the device from the managed device plan and the above steps do not work, it is possible that a residual profile is still present on your device. In this case, you may:

    1. Go to your iPhone's "Settings".
    2. Select "General".
    3. Scroll down and choose "Profiles" or "Profiles & Device Management".
    4. If there is a profile associated with your old corporation, select it.
    5. Tap on "Remove Profile" and, if prompted, enter your device passcode.
    6. Confirm the profile removal.

Once any associated profiles are removed, you should be able to add your new corporate email account to Outlook without interference from the old account.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please contact your IT administrator for further assistance. If necessary, they can create a support ticket on your behalf.

Please note that, as a community moderator, my ability to troubleshoot and resolve this issue is limited. Resolving this issue may require advanced troubleshooting, which is why I suggest contacting your IT administrator or Microsoft 365 for Business support. Microsoft's frontline support team can diagnose the issue by collecting more specific information. If necessary, a frontline technical support engineer can involve a specialized support team for further analysis.

I hope this information helps. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely

Feroz Mahmud | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Feroz,

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, since I am unable to authenticate the account, I have no access to the profiles and settings inside of the app.

Moving on to the second suggested solution, I do not find any account linked in the VPN and device mgmt. section of settings on the iPhone.

    Thank you for your sugegstions.
