Help signing in and verfying myself

I have been told I need to verify my Microsoft account. However, when I request a code be sent to my mobile phone and i input the final 4 digits as it requests, I receive this message:

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

I have now kept trying over the course of the last few days and there has been no change to that message. I have tried verifying myself via the means of a different account of mine but it says I have inputed too little information. I have tried via phone and laptop as well as via app and internet.

Please can someone help me with this?

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are experiencing problems with mobile number verification. Allow me to make some elaborations and suggestions.

    Firstly as the error report suggests, this is a server issue. Usually this is a transient issue but I did receive some continuous feedback from users recently.

    I understand that you have tried a number of devices and actions.

    I would suggest that you could try it on your mobile phone using mobile phone traffic, this will maximise the chance of eliminating some of the disruption.

    If that still doesn't work, I'd like to check with you if there is another verifiable way such as an alternate email.

    I'll let you know here if there are further developments. Please try and wait a bit.

    I apologize for my delayed response.

    The problem seems to have improved, can you verify by cell phone now? Please let me know again if there is any progress or problems.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, I have tried with another email address but it requests previous passwords and i can't remember any so it says tht I haven't given sufficient information. Just tried via phone again. Same message. Any idea when the server issue will be fixed? I really need to enter my account.
