    Dear john gouverneur

Thank you for answering us. I'm sorry your problem persists.

Would you be able to follow the Account has been locked - Microsoft Support to unlock your account.

Do you have security information available, such as verification email or phone, recovery code, etc.

If you are unable to retrieve your account using the above methods, then the recovery form may be the only way to retrieve your account, Recover your account (live.com) so please take the time to fill in as many details as possible, as this is very important for the recovery of your account!

You'll receive the results of your request within 24 hours from the work email address at the top of the form. Here are some tips to help you pass the verification successfully:

    • Select the Microsoft services you used and fill out the suggestions below. However, if you don't use the service, you can fill out your Microsoft purchase history.
    • This form will ask for certain information to verify your identity, such as your name, date of birth, and any other email address or phone number you used to register for an account.
    • The secret to going through the verification process is to provide as much accurate information as possible. The more accurate your information is, the more likely you are to pass verification.
    • Answer the questions with the information you used when you created your account or last updated your account, preferably by submitting an account recovery request using a computer or device that successfully accessed your account.
    • In addition, in the Outlook.com section, you can ask for help from family, friends, or business contacts to determine their email address and provide the subject line of any email you send them. If you can only get the recipient's email address, but not the subject of the message, you can specify [none] as the exact subject of the email. Don't leave it blank. If you haven't sent an email yet but have received one, try typing your email address in your inbox and attaching a subject line. You will have a better chance of getting your account back.
    • Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support

You can try contacting online support: Contact - Microsoft Support

    • Enter your question to search for it, and then click "Login to Contact Support" at the bottom of the page.
    • Log in to another available Microsoft personal account.
    • Under "Products and Services", select "Other Products".
    • Under Categories, select Manage Account Security and click Confirm.
    • Click Chat with Support Agent in Web Browser.

You can also look up the customer service number for your country at Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

I hope the above information can help you!

Feel free to write back if you need more help.

    Dear john gouverneur

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand that you were detected with unusual activity on your account while logged in and were asked to verify your account. This could be due to the following reasons

    • The region of your login device has changed too much, you may have traveled or gone on a business trip to a new place, then you may encounter abnormal activity when logging in.
    • Your Ip address fluctuates too much, if you are using a VPN or a web proxy this may cause your account to be detected with unusual activity.

You can follow the instructions to change your password and log in to your account. And you can go to https://account.live.com/Activity  and sign in with your Microsoft account. Select Recent Activity to check your activity information.

I hope the above information can help you!

Feel free to write back if you need more help.

    Best Regards,
