I have not changed the version of the browser.

It has worked for months without problem.

NOW it does not work at all. Thank you.

Microsoft has decided to stick a fork in it and keep account holders from

    accessing their email accounts.

It is kind of rude to make customers jump through hoops to find out that the

cause of 'STATUS_STACK_OVERFLOW' is a diddle by Microsoft.

I assume this is a 'new bug' that will go onto the stack of active software errors(or fixes that cause other problems), at the bottom of the 'to do' list.

Apparently Microsoft wants customers to go away unless they have the latest version of OS software. I cannot wait until they refuse access to their web site until you have the latest OS, requiring replacement of hardware that adequately satisfies customer needs.

Good luck in your future endeavors as you will likely need it. Mucking up access to email is not a 'good thing' to do to customers. Which your company decided was in their best interest.

I disagree, but that's nothing new.

Have fun, but be aware customers do have other choices. Yahoo found out, Netscape found out, Digital Research found out as did many others who thought they owned the market and could do what they wanted with and to their customers.

Arrogance is not a characteristic people find to be attractive.

Why must I give up the operating system that works for me and has for many years in order to continue accessing my email? I have used Windows 95, 98, XP, and now 7. All of their interfaces were similiar, making an upgrade easy. 10 is so different and non-intuitive that I have no use for it. And 11 is a joke with no punchline! Now I hear that support for 10 will be ending and everyone will be pushed towards 12, whatever that may be.

Play all you want with new stuff but leave those of us alone that are happy with our current set-up!

In the meantime, restore my access to Outlook!!!

    Indeed,

My wife has a perfectly working computer with Windows 7 Ultimate - FOR EMAIL, and the odd browsing. Also affected by this BUG.

Microsoft seems to have stopped responding to this email-thread have you noticed?

In this time of care for the environment etc., that companies like Microsoft are allowed to insist that you upgrade your hard- and software much earlier than the hardware fails is totally out of order. Another example, this security chip, preventing you to upgrade WIN 11, because Microsoft decides that THEY need to decide whether YOUR security is good enough, is another example where they are causing unnecessary pollution and use of resources. On top of that, do you really think that they accept any ownership of issues, when your hardware fails, and you cannot access your computer? I don't think so. OH yes, put everything into the cloud. Any idea how much energy / resources is wasted in this way? (And using renewables, where they ar no longer available for other purposes in my opinion does not make you greener.

In Europe, they at least are attempting to do something about this (early disposal of goods, non-repairability, short service/support life of consumer goods (and necessary software) etc.

As the biggest company on Earth, they should take a LEADING role in care for the Environment / Resources usage. Stop fixing what is not broken. and give us our access back!

    Hello Costas Kalaitzidis,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

We have recently received a lot of issues regarding "status_stack_overflow" message. This problem may be due to compatibility between the Chrome version and outlook.com. Since Edge and Chrome use the same kernel, both may encounter this issue.

To quickly resolve the problem, we suggest temporarily using a browser with a non-Chrome kernel e.g. Firefox.

Based on the feedback we've received, most users experiencing this issue are using version 109 of the Edge browser.

To help us pinpoint the problematic browser version more quickly, could you please let us know the version number of your Chrome/Edge? You can find the version number in browser Settings > About.

Your feedback is crucial to us. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best Regards,
