hello. A few months ago, i tried to sign in to my main account, but insted of being able to sign in normaly, I was met with the message "help us secure your account". I tried to go through the verification, but i couldn't, because it asked for my old phone number's last four digits, that i did know, but even if i did put it in, there would of been no way for me to see the sms message that would of been sent to the number. then i tried to do the online verification, I filled the recovery form, multiple times. A few times, microsoft did get back to me, just to say that the information was not enough, and when i filled the form a few times again, this time with more information, microsoft just seems to have ignored them all. what do i do to recover my account? Will this secure account screen go away eventually? (unfortunetely, i can't include screenshots because the files fail to upload, and also, sorry for the mistakes i may have made, my english writing is far from perfect)

    Dear MadripomnePleaseHelp104,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

I understand that you are trying to recover your account, and I also know that this account is very important to you. I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you.

If you remember the right password, I suggest you update your security verification information and replace it with the new one. Here are the specific steps:

    1. Enter the login box of account.live.com and enter your password.
    2. Select "None of these are available" during security verification.
    3. Then you will be redirected to update your security information.(If this page does not appear, it indicates that your account is temporarily unable to update security information. Please use the alternative solution below.)

At this point, you will be asked to enter a new security information, and submit it after verification. After waiting for 30 days, Microsoft will notify you that your security information has been updated, and you can use your new phone number to verify and log in.

If you're unable to access the page to update your security information and are instead redirected to a recovery form, and given your current situation, the automated recovery process through the form is unable to restore your account, please accept our apologies. As the Q&A community operates in a public space, we have limited capabilities to assist with account recovery due to privacy protection measures and do not have access to user data. We recommend that you contact the live chat support to provide additional account information and inquire about alternative methods for recovering your account.

Here are the specific steps to contact the live chat support:

    1. Sign in to this link using any personal Microsoft accountContact - Microsoft Support. Type "account issues" into the search box.
    2. Click "Sign in and contact support" at the bottom of the page.
    3. Under "Products and Services", select "Microsoft 365 and Office".
    4. Under "Category", select "Manage Account Security".
    5. Click "Chat with a support agent". Then fill out the contact information so that the online agent can contact you.

    Please note:

    • Online chat does not support enterprise accounts. If you currently do not have an available personal account, please create a new @outlook.com account to use.
    • the online chat service is available during working hours on local business days.

We appreciate you spend your time working on this issue.  I wish you all the best.

    Best Regards,

Ulrica.W - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
