OneDrive Usage Report - Storage vs. Actual Storage Discrepancy

In the process of looking at our OneDrive 3rd party backups, I noticed a discrepancy. I started down the path of trying to figure out how much OneDrive space our users are actually consuming. In MS 365 admin center, I went to Reports / Usage / OneDrive files. The graph shows amount of storage used at just under 25G. That seemed low so I started looking at individual users.

I have one user that is utilizing 10MB according to the usage report. But when I connect to that same user's OneDrive and show details, the Documents folder alone is over 1GB. (Hopefully my screen shots display below.)

Thankfully my backup system does seem to be backing up all the user's files, but am I not comparing what I think I am? Is there a good way to get a view of how much each user is storing on their OneDrive?

I realize there are versions and recycle bins among other things that take up extra space, but the 10M usage doesn't fit at all.

Thank you in advance.

The reports are usually lagging behind (few days, but sometimes over a week), so you can expect some discrepancies. A more reliable way to check would be the Get-SPOSite cmdlet.

    Hi @VMarshall

    Welcome to Q&A forum ~

To view the usage of OneDrive per user, you can refer to michev's suggestions.
Here's a link, which you can also look at: OneDrive for Business: usage report using PowerShell.

Besides, you can send the feedback using Feedback button if the numbers on OneDrive Admin reports may be inaccurate.
