I started using the new outlook. I want to open each email in a separate window.

Browsed and found this solution:

In the Outlook Settings (Gear icon on top right)-->View all outlook settings-->Mail-->Customize actions Under Message surface, ensure that "Open in new window" is selected and Save.

but, I don't have the "Open in new window" option

I discovered that single clicking on a message in the message list opens it in the reading pane, but double clicking on it in the message list opens it in a new window.

Also, once in the reading pane, you can ALSO open it into a new window from the three seashells (I mean three dots ...) in the upper right corner of the message, then View->Open in new window.

Hi Yossi. I am an independent advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

I am sorry you are having trouble with Outlook not working as it should. I understand this can be pretty frustrating. I apologize for the inconvenience. Let me try to help.

Disclaimer: This is a public user-to-user community forum. None of us here work for Microsoft and it is beyond our capability to assist directly with the account or login-related issues. Just so there is no misunderstanding, this is a public user-to-user support forum. We're users just like you helping other users. The inability to locate the "Open in new window" option is not exclusive to you as many other users have complained about the same thing; myself included. It would appear that function was indeed removed recently.

Please Keep in mind that the New Outlook is still evolving, and more features are being added over time.

What you can do is providing feedback directly to Microsoft through the feedback portal https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback so that they can reverse this decision and include the feature to upcoming versions of the application.

    I hope this helps

    Regards Femi

I cannot find this in Customize actions: "Under Message surface, ensure that "Open in new window" is selected and Save".
Very frustrating as the double clicking to Open in New Window is hit and miss (I actually had to slow down my mouse settings speed of double clicking!). Sometimes it works well but other times it will either only open in the message list so I then have to close it to see other emails (Note that I am a heavy user of ALT+TAB to move between windows); OR it opens the message in a separate window and in the message list giving me double whammy!

Hello, I have searched and not found the answer to this question. Only when CREATING a new email, a new window is automatically opened. I am using the classic Outlook app. This doesn't happen on the New Outlook however I do not like the New outlook and do not want to use it. Please answer. Thank you.
