Hello Kenneth,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community
It seems to me that you are trying to share and allow editing for contacts with other people using Outlook.com.
Allow me to ask:
- I would like to know what @domain and who is hosting your email account? example for @domains: Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, Outlook.com/Hotmail.com
- May I know if the account is for Work/School use? or Personal (Hotmail/Outlook.com) use?
- May I know how do you access your emails? is it through Outlook.com (web)? Outlook application (included in Microsoft 365 subscription)? New Outlook for Windows? Classic Outlook for Windows (Windows Mail app)? Outlook application for mobiles?
- What version and edition of Office do you have installed in your device? Example: Personal/Family/Enterprise?
- You can open any Office apps
- Go to File > Accounts - on the right side you can see Product Information
Yes, Outlook.com has the capability to share contacts with others. Here are the steps to share contacts in Outlook.com:
- Go to Outlook.com and sign in to your account.
- Click on the "People" icon at the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Select the contact you want to share and click on the "Share" button at the top of the screen.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to share the contact with and select the level of access you want to give them (view only or edit).
- Click on the "Share" button to send the invitation.
Outlook.com for business also supports sharing of contacts and calendars. You can use Microsoft Exchange to share contacts and calendars with other users in your organization. (However this will depends on the preferences)
Here are some helpful links on how to share contacts using the Outlook 365 desktop: Share a contacts folder with others - Microsoft Support
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thank you,
