Cancelled meeting but meeting members not receiving ANY notice that the meeting has been cancelled.

I have meetings setup and there is no notice, EMAIL or otherwise that indicates that the other party cancelled the meeting. The color doesn't change on the meeting. There's no indication at all that they cancelled the meeting on their end and visa versa. I see other complaints about similar issues with no resolution and they just locked the thread with nothing but a "submit feedback" request. That is NOT acceptable.

What is the alternative on this? Sending an email every time we have to cancel an email? If that's the case, there's no way to enforce this across the board to notify others that they will not be at the meeting. This is a weekly, never-ending meeting we have setup.

    Hello,

I found the answer myself. No member was required to be part of the meeting, so therefore it wasn’t sending the cancellations. This would be a good starting point the next time you get this question. Also, might be worth putting it somewhere that adding and requiring members on a RECURRING meeting doesn’t require that they accept the meeting every week.

    Thanks,

Honestly, I don’t appreciate what sounds like a disrespectful response and all the “kindly” comments. If your misunderstanding the use of kindly, it’s not polite if you think it is.

I’ll check with my IT on the presented options, even though it’s a gross amount of legwork that you’re demanding rudely that your client end user is required to troubleshoot with little work on your end.

The fact that there are several other closed ticket instances of this issue that are unresolved indicates an issue that Microsoft either doesn’t care to actually fix, or are not escalating appropriately to troubleshoot with someone who can actually help, be that on the phone or otherwise.

    I’ll keep you posted.

    Hi,

I am facing the same problem,

In my case my project manager forwarded me invites of many existing meetings which were already scheduled for the project before I joined the team. For all the meetings which are not initiated by my project manager and initiated by someone else, especially outside our organization, I don't receive any notification if the meeting organizer cancels the meeting. I spent a lot of time waiting in the lobby for anyone to let me in but nothing happens because the meeting is actually cancelled.

It is very annoying sometimes and wastes a lot of time.

    Dear Patrick Vanstrom

Thanks a lot for your feedback and patience! Very sorry for late reply!

Based on your further description, first I would like to explain to you that I asked you to check the results on Outlook on the web, not to let you escape the error of the Outlook client to use Outlook on the web as a replacement, but to further troubleshoot the cause of the problem, if the problem occurs on both the Outlook web version and the Outlook client, it means that the problem is not related to the Outlook client, it may be related to your account and the server backend, But if the same error does not appear on Outlook on the web, then please kindly try to fix the Outlook client by doing the following

your issue not occurred in OWA(outlook web app), so that means your problem is related to your outlook desktop client, so please kindly refer to following

If you still need further help, then please kindly share with me the above feedback after you tried it, and I will do my best to do more research and testing to help you further, thank you.

Sincerely hope that your problem will be solved as soon as possible! Wish you have a wonderful day!

    Sincerely

    Dear Patrick Vanstrom

Good day! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. We'll be happy to help!

First of all, we regret for the inconvenience caused to your work. Based on your description, I have a general understanding of your question, to help you better, I still need to gather more information to narrow the scope of the question

    • Is this problem at a particular regular meeting of your organization? Or is this error occurring in all the meetings you organize? Please kindly create a test meeting to check the results, thank you.
    • Did all the attendees not receive the cancellation notice?
    • Given that your issue occurred in outlook desktop client because you upload your thread in outlook for windows category, if yes please kindly use your account to login OWA (Outlook Web App) **** and check whether you got the same issue, thanks.
    • What's your type of account?(busines account within business subscription/outlook.com/hotmail.com/live.com/msn.com/imap account/pop account)
    • Are you referring to canceling all recurring meetings or deleting only one of them?
    • Is your problem happening in a normal calendar or a shared calendar?

Please kindly believe that I will do my best to do more research and testing to help you further when you receive the feedback I need.

Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thank you in advance for your understanding. Your patience and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. I hope for all the best!

    Sincerely
