Original question: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/how-to-create-shareable-outlook-email-link-with/7b53a20a-acea-470e-9cb9-40a261e83909

I found a way to achieve this but it does not solve the entire problem on the above question. I.e. If there has been more responses on the email thread after being saved, it will not update as it is now only an attachment but for my case, the following steps was enough:

  1. Forward the email as an attachment
  2. On the forwarding screen, there should be an attachment of the email. Right click and save as.
  3. Locate the saved email on your desktop. Right click and click share or copy link.

    Hello,

indeed, it would be fantastic to be able to link directly to an email message.

For example when assigning a task to someone who has access to a shared mailbox, the person would be able to click the link and directly see the corresponding email.

For now all links only opens the inbox of the shared mailbox but never the message itself.

This would also be of great use whithin "Planner in Teams" -> assigning a task with a direct link to an email within a shared mailbox.

    Why is this not possible?

Thanks for your support and kind regards,

    David

    Hi Vaidya,

You didn't respond to the original request at all, please note that the user included a link to the original post where hundreds of people were let down by the lack of substantive response from Microsoft. People are looking for a way to create a link to a live email in their Outlook inbox that can be clicked and forward them to the email thread. Right now, if you copy the link to an email thread and click it, you are forwarded to Outlook with no email open.
