Hi, I'd like to ask about Microsoft Sculpt ergonomic mouse and keyboard. Will it work on MacOS? Where could I get a spare dongle (I lost it). Or I don't need a dongle at all?

The keyboard works, but not the mouse.

Hi, JanD. I am an independent advisor, trying to help other users in the Community with my experience in Microsoft products. Please note that I am a user like you and don't work directly for Microsoft.

The Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse and Keyboard are indeed compatible with MacOS, but they may have limited functionality compared to using them with Windows. This is outlined in detail by Marrion here https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/6d6cbc65-def2-43c9-b0ac-3915c92574a0

"When you plugged in the USB dongle that came with the package (inside the mouse) to your MacBook, does the mouse work immediately?

Yes, you could only use the keyboard and it should be automatic when you plugged the USB dongle to your MacBook. Try to follow the steps in the Quick Start Guide under Downloads on this page: Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/pc-accessories .

Take note: Using the Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop on Mac OS X will only have limited functionality."

Unfortunately, if the dongle is lost, it is not covered by the Standard Manufacturer’s Warranty, and you would typically need to purchase a new set as explained by Roy in the article at https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/ff11513f-da45-4826-9bd8-633be6a20ce3

"The mouse or keyboards operate only through the USB dongle which is uniquely paired. Dongles are uniquely and securely bound or programmed to the mouse or the keyboard and are sold as a matched set. Because of the secure binding or programming, we are unable to provide a replacement dongle that would work with the mouse or keyboard. Lost dongle is not covered by the Standard Manufacturer's Warranty also."
