I do not remember upgrading to the new Outlook and don't want to.

    Dear Kathy Engstrom,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern.

You can check if there's "File" tab in the ribbon which is unique to the classic app, and use this link to tell the difference between Classic Outlook and New Outlook. What version of Outlook do I have? - Microsoft Support

There's also a port to switch back to Classic Outlook in New Outlook:

Please note: New Outlook is not an updated version of Outlook. It's a free email software developed by Microsoft for unsubscribed Microsoft 365 users. The features and interface are similar to the Outlook web version. But there is still a big gap between it and Outlook Classic in terms of functionality. And the developers are constantly improving and enriching its content. So if you still have Outlook Classic, you can continue to use Outlook Classic to get more rich features.

If you don't have the Classic app installed on your PC, you can download it from this link: Can't open Classic Outlook on a new Windows PC - Microsoft Support

I hope my suggestion was helpful to you.

If you have any questions, please let me know and I will work with you until your doubts are resolved.

    Best wishes
