    Dear Daragh Burns,

    Good day!

Thank you for your reply to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.

Based on your reply you can try Enabling Out-of-Office Replies in Office 365:

    • Log in to the Microsoft 365 admin center as a global or exchange admin.
    • Navigate to Exchange Admin Center.
    • Go to Mail Flow and select Rules.
    • Click on the "+" sign to create a new rule.
    • Name the rule something like "Out-of-Office Auto-Reply".
    • Under "Apply the rule to messages", choose Sent or Received depending on your preference.
    • Under "Conditions", select Specific recipients and add the email address of the user who wants to set up out-of-office.
    • Under "Do the following", select Reply with a specific message.
    • Compose your out-of-office message and click OK.
    • Turn on the rule and save it.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

Based on your reply you can try accessing the automatic replies feature through the Outlook Web App (OWA):

    1. Log in to Outlook Web App at Outlook.com or Office.com
    2. Click on the gear icon to open Settings.
    3. Select ‘View all Outlook settings’.
    4. Go to ‘Mail’ and then ‘Automatic replies’.
    5. Toggle on ‘Turn on automatic replies’.
    6. Set the start and end times for your automatic replies.
    7. Enter your out-of-office message.
    8. Save your settings.

another action: Update and Reinstall: Ensure that your Outlook app is up-to-date, consider reinstalling the app to see if that resolves any issues.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Dear Daragh Burns,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.

Based on your post regarding with "does anyone know how to turn on the option to allow users to set out of office on the new outlook app. the option for auto-replies is not there at all".

To understand the situation and be able to offer you relevant suggestions, we would need a little more information from you. Kindly help us in providing the following information.

In the meantime, to create auto reply in new outlook: On the View tab, select  View settingsin new Outlook.

    1. Select AccountsAutomatic Replies.
    2. Select the Turn on automatic replies toggle.
    3. Select Send replies only during a time period, and then enter start and end times.
    4. Under Send automatic replies inside your organization, enter the message to send while you're away. (You can use the formatting options for text alignment, color, and emphasis.) To set up automatic replies to other people, select Send replies outside your organization, then add a separate message for that audience.
    5. When you're done, select Save.

REF : Send automatic replies (out of office) from Outlook

Note: This feature requires to have an Exchange account, if you have IMAP or other third-party account such as Gmail, this feature is not yet available for these accounts in the new Outlook for Windows (Preview) version. Troubleshooting: I don't see Automatic Replies
