    Dear Zachary,

The error continues, sadly, none of your answers are helpful. I can login to my account for OneDrive, mail etc but can't get to security part. I can't even set up authenticator on my new phone as it comes with the same error. This is really outrageous.

I have exactly the same issue. I got a new phone, installed the Microsoft Authenticator, trying the "recovery" function in the Microsoft Authenticator as I have three accounts in it on my old phone. Upon the login request, I tried using the authenticator on the other phone, or using a code from the old authentictor, both run into the same "too many requests" message and I have to click cancel to get out of the recovery operation. Meanwhile, my Email login and Microsoft account login works perfectly fine using the old authenticator on my old phone.

I just can't "move" those account from the Microsoft Authenticator on my old phone to the Microsoft Authentictor on my new phone. This is bizarre.

Please don't tell me to wait for 24-48 hours and hope the issue will just go away by itself.

    Hello Muhammad ilham1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are seeing a “Too many requests” message when trying to log in. I completely understand how you feel.

This is usually a security mechanism to prevent hackers from using brute force algorithms to crack account passwords. However, sometimes this issue can be related to your login environment.

I suggest you try some troubleshooting steps first.

    1. Try logging into your account using your browser’s private mode. This will eliminate any issues caused by browser cache.
    2. If you are using a network proxy, try disabling it and then logging in again.
    3. Check if you can access and change your account information on a different device.
    4. Try switching your network environment and accessing your account from a different IP address.
    5. If you encounter the same issue after trying the above steps, I recommend waiting a full 24 hours before attempting to access your account again. During this waiting period, please refrain from making any login attempts. To ensure the waiting time is sufficient, it is a good idea to extend the waiting period slightly.

If you still cannot access your account, you can follow the steps below to contact live chat support for further assistance.

    1. You can try logging in to the following website. (This requires you to log in to a personal Microsoft account. If you don’t have one, you can create a temporary account. Create account (live.com))
      Contact Us - Microsoft Support
    2. Select Microsoft 365 > get home support.
    3. In the question description box, type ‘Account’ and click ‘Get Help’.
    4. Then tap Contact Support in the bottom left corner.
    5. Choose from the following categories: Other Products, Manage account security.
    6. Select Chat with a support agent in your web browser.

TIPS: Please contact us during local working hours on weekdays, CHAT does not work 24 hours a day.

Please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Best Regards,

FYI. I had the same issue and then realized the problem was my VPN. Once I turned it off, I was able to get in again.
