My email password is no longer working, I have 2 step verification however do not have the access to the phone number used. I have tried use the reset password option however it says that the request has timed out, I have tried this across multiple days. Furthermore I filled the Microsoft account recovery form however the response told me the request will be ignored due to me having 2 step verification. Please help as I need this email, it's crucial for work.

    Hello Nathania Jones

    Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community

    According to your description, I encountered an error message of "Request timed out" when logging into your account.

    This may be due to a network problem when sending a login request. It is recommended that you switch to another device and network environment before trying to log into your Microsoft account.

    You can try to change the login device (PC/mobile phone/tablet). Sometimes some software in the device may be mistakenly identified as a threat. After eliminating the device problem, you can try to switch the network environment, try to switch the mobile hotspot/home WIFI network environment.

    You can also try to turn on or off third-party proxy software (VPN) or switch nodes to force you to log in to your account using a server in another region. Many users have reported that this method works for them.

    If you are still stuck on the login timeout screen, since the community team has limited tools and permissions to access account information, you can also contact our customer team. Microsoft has a dedicated customer service team that will do their best to help you restore your account to normal operation, but whether the account can be successfully restored depends on the actual situation of your account.

    The following link can be used to contact the customer service team from the account number:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We'll work for you anytime", type MSA, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you need to register a personal Microsoft account

    Note: You can only use a personal MSA to sign up, and the company account can't display the correct content. If the account cannot be connected, you can use a different account or create a new account to run;

    1. Select "Other Products" under Products & Services, select "Manage Account Security" as the category, and click to confirm
    2. You can select "Chat with support specialists in web browser" to access the chat window.

    We wish you the best of luck in restoring your account. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help or support.

    Best wishes
