I am using comcast.net email. The pop up appears in the middle of the screen when I am on the email account. It reads:

    Internet ******@comcast.net

Enter your username and password for the following server.

    Server smtp.comcast.net

    User Name: diezdeonate @comcast.net

    Password: *********

Save this password in your password list and the box is checked

    OK or Cancel

How do I get rid of this? Thank you

    Hi Jorge10_336,

    No problem!

ATT is also a third party mailbox, the specific parameters may need to refer to the official article of ATT mailbox, in addition, outlook classic does not have the requirement of new style authentication, so you can just follow the normal process to configure the mailbox.

Manually select IMAP protocol or POP protocol, enter correct username/password/port number/encryption method, etc.

You don't have to worry about it, if you have any problems with the configuration you can continue to post in the forums or reply to me and we'll be happy to help you.😊

    Have a nice day.

    Best regards

Thank you very much for your reply and answer to my question. I am dropping Comcast and going to ATT, however I will be using outlook classic as my email account. Will your answer also apply to ATT and outlook?

    Hi Jorge10_336,

Thank you for responding to let me know more about your situation.😊

I understand that your email is a third party email, is it constantly popping up windows to enter your username and password? Also, I see that the section you have selected is new outlook, the problem may be due to new outlook configuring third party mailboxes with new style authentication. You can reconfigure your comcast.net mailbox, pay attention to make sure the settings such as SMTP server address, port number and whether SSL/TLS encryption is required are correct. Newer authentication may require you to manually enable two-factor authentication and get the application password in third-party emails, etc. If you are unsure of the individual parameters, you can check the instructions for the third-party email.

Here's what you may need to do: Visit your Xfinity My Account website and log in with your Comcast credentials. Click Manage My Account -> Security -> Manage Application Passwords. Click Create Application Password. Assign a descriptive name to your application password and click Create Password. Copy the generated application password and use it in place of your regular password when configuring Outlook.

When configuring mailboxes in new outlook, please select ‘Advanced Options’ and then select ‘IMAP’. Select ‘IMAP’ as the account type. Enter the following information:

    Incoming mail server: imap.comcast.net

    Port: 993

    Encryption: SSL/TLS

    Outgoing mail server: smtp.comcast.net

    Port: 465

    Encryption: SSL/TLS

Enter your full Comcast.net email address and password. Click Next and then Finish to complete the setup.

It may also be necessary for you to update your email security settings:

Sign in to Xfinity Email with your Xfinity ID and password.

In the upper right corner, click the pram icon, then select Personal Settings.

    Click Security.

Uncheck the box under Third-Party Access Security to prevent third-party programs from accessing your Xfinity Email, or check the box to allow access.

Also, the official article on the new style of authentication you can refer to: Modern Authentication Methods now needed to continue syncing Outlook Email in non-Microsoft email apps - Microsoft Support

Configure it successfully and use it for a while to see if the original situation of always popping up to enter username and password is improved.

    Have a nice day.

    Best regards

    Hi KevinAbeln,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

I realize you want to stop the email notifications that keep popping up on your screen, and I'll do my best to help!

Based on your description, I'm guessing that you have a situation where email notifications show up in the bottom corner of your computer desktop screen whenever a new email arrives. Is this the case? Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding, or provide me with some screenshots.

You can try to open new outlook, [Settings]-[General]-[Notification], you can choose to turn on or off the items you need to be notified by the system, such as mail/calendar/document. In addition, if you don't want it to pop up messages in the bottom corner of the desktop, you can click the small triangle icon on the right to expand it, and select ‘None’ in the notification style.

Let me know if you're successful, or if you have any other questions, feel free to get back to me, looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for your patience and support. I hope that the above information is helpful to you.

    Have a nice day.

    Best regards
