Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
This is like designing a car and forget about the wheels. It's not a mistake, it's being stupid.

I just started using the new Outlook. While there are some perks, I'm noticing some huge setbacks. Upgrades should be just that, upgrades. I've noticed several functionalities that no longer exist. How do I get an email attachment to open in its default app? When I open any sort of file that isn't a Microsoft file, like a PDF, it opens in a separate Outlook window. To open PDFs in Adobe I need to download the file and then open the file from my downloads. This is inefficient, especially when I need to open several PDFs (yes, they all need to be in the the Adobe software).

I just don't understand how you make this mistake unless someone in upper management thought it would be a good idea. I can't use the new outlook with this huge mistake.
Some one missed the mark big time.
Instead of wasting time writing such empty reply, Microsoft Team should be working to implement this CRUCIAL feature for those who actually work and therefore need it!
"New" is supposed to bring improvement not just a modern layout without any meaningful functionality. The new Outlook is really disappointing.
Wow. This huge miss on Microsoft's part makes the "New" Outlook completely unusable. Why would you ever decide to do this?
I agree with these comments. Why is Microsoft taking a step backwards in their software. It does appear that they want all functions to be Microsoft ONLY and do not want to support other software. Funny thing is, it probably wont open Excel or Word documents in their native programs as well. Again, Microsoft, why would you take away perfect working functionality and take a step backwards? This was a horrible business decision on your part. If I could, Id have my IT department delete the new update and go back to the older versions. The ne one is just not worth it.
