2024-11-11T22:31:15+00:00 Its a pity there isnt any sort of chat system to contact Facebook for help with this Two Step nonsense . For now nearly three weeks I have been trying to get back into my own personal and business pages with no luck , I open FB and then see my email address with password then click continue . Thats when it all goes belly up as they say they will send login code to my mobile number or Whatsapp but those codes never arrive . Its fine for FB to put up endless pages of how to turn off the Two step but NOT one of them helps if you cant even get into your account . For a few minutes last week I did receive a code and bingo got into my page , so I thought great time to turn off the two step but then up pops another message saying I need to verify that its me trying to modify MY account . So once again click on the link and then no code gets sent , but whats worse even if they did you get 10 seconds to read the text and then type it in if not you start again and eventually you get locked out . So three weeks later I,m no closer to resolving the problem .

2024-07-24T03:32:07+00:00 Hello Ccjfd,
I am a Microsoft user like you, providing solutions to community members; I am NOT a Microsoft employee.
Please note that this platform is to support Microsoft clients, however, here's how to remove two-factor authentication (often called "Authenticator") on your Facebook account to log in:
Prerequisites: -You'll need access to your phone or a device where you receive Facebook's login codes if you set up two-factor authentication with your phone number. I-f you used an authentication app (like Google Authenticator), you'll need your phone with the app installed.
Steps:
- Go to Settings: Open Facebook on your web browser and log in to your account if you're not already signed in.
- Security and Login: Navigate to "Settings" and then look for "Security and Login" or a similar section related to security settings.
- Two-Factor Authentication: Within the security settings, find the option related to "Two-Factor Authentication" or "Login Approvals."
- Edit or Turn Off: Click on "Edit" or "Manage" next to the two-factor authentication method you want to remove (text message, authentication app, etc.). You might see a "Turn Off" option directly.
- Confirmation: Depending on your chosen method (text message or app), you might receive a verification code or be prompted to enter your Facebook password for confirmation. Provide the code or password as requested.
- Disable Two-Factor Authentication: Once you confirm, two-factor authentication will be disabled for that specific method.
Additional Notes: If you don't have access to your phone or the authentication app, you might encounter difficulties removing two-factor authentication. Facebook might offer account recovery options in such cases, but the process might be more complex. It's best to try with a device you have access to for a smoother removal process. After removing two-factor authentication, you'll be able to log in to Facebook using just your email or phone number and password.
Security Recommendation: While removing two-factor authentication allows you to log in more easily, it also reduces account security. Consider re-enabling two-factor authentication after you regain access, especially if you use Facebook for important accounts or information. You can choose a more convenient method like an authentication app instead of text messages if you prefer.
Hope this helps
