Is there a way to keep using Microsoft Mail & Calendar app?

Everytime i try to open the Mail & Calendar app it switches to the new Outlook by default.

Even if i uninstall the new Outlook app and make the Mail & Calendar app as the default, it switches back.

To me, Mail & Calendar app is more convenient, so is there a way to make the default email app without it switching by default to the new Outlook app?

    Dear Mazen El-Araissi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It looks like you want to switch to Windows Mail instead of New Outlook, even though Microsoft has made it clear that it's about to stop supporting Windows Mail if you want to keep using it until then, you can attempt the following solution.

    1. Navigate to the path: C:\Users[User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Migration\
    2. Delete the settings.json file.
    3. After deleting, return to the previous level. Right-click the Migration folder and select Properties.
    4. Go to Security and click Edit.
    5. Select your account (this requires an Administrator account) and check Deny and Write. (Outlook will automatically reopen without this setting)
    6. Finally, apply and confirm.

Now you should be able to successfully open Windows Mail without being redirected to the new Outlook.

I'm sure you realize that this is a temporary solution. I know it's very frustrating to discontinue support for Windows Mail, and it's unfortunate that New Outlook's automatic updates don't provide you with an enjoyable experience. I hope you find your favorite mail application soon.

I wish you every day of happiness.

    Best regards

The new outlook and Microsoft just for the second time in 5 days looked me out of windows mail and is requiring me to use the new outlook which claims that my 2 email addresses that I've used for 25 yrs are not legit emails. apparently, it doesn't recognize 3rd party email addresses like mine from spectrum. the window they put over the program can't be bypassed
