How do I completely remove all of my outlook data files and start over from scratch?

Hello,

I've been trying to get rid of all of my outlook data files, and start from scratch (like I've never in my life used Outlook before). However, when I go into AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook, and delete everything out of that file, and fire outlook back up, it still has the same corrupted email accounts, and re-generates the same data files I had just deleted.

The only thing the internet has otherwise told me to do, is to go into OneDrive \ My Documents, and look for the Outlook folder that doesn't exist there, so I have no way of removing the data files from OneDrive, because they don't appear to be living there.

I am at my wits end with this program, and while I'd rather not use Gmail's clunky web interface, I feel like I am forced to, as Outlook is all but useless to me.

BTW - I am trying to use Microsoft 365, with Classic Outlook.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

This doesn't work for me either. there is much more going on behind the scenes with outlook. it is building ODT files in the AppData folder for Outlook for old profiles that aren't even loaded or and the email account is not active in Outlook. I am at the point of resetting the computer and starting from scratch. This all started for me when i added a shared exchange mailbox to outlook, hasn't been right since then and the issue is only with the shared mailbox. i kill off a profile, set up a new one and it works for a few hours but then i get to a point that i can't send emails from that account anymore, says it can't access the data file and you can see that it did stop talking to it, yet i still receive emails on that account.

I am convinced that microsoft is driving us to use the new version of outlook, but i can't use it in my enterprise environment for some reason. i had problems on another computer that were only solved by me going over to the new outlook (kept asking for passwords for the account)

Have you tried deleting the entire Outlook profile? Click (Windows) Start button and type control panel. Click Control Panel icon to launch it. Type Mail on the top right corner. Click Mail icon.

Then click Show Profiles... button. Delete the profile(s) shown on the list. Launch Outlook. You will be prompted to create a new profile (or to configure Outlook from scratch).
