Hi there,

I received email from Microsoft advising that I need to re-set up my email settings in my mail applications (both outlook and mail from Apple on Mac) on my Apple laptop. Can you please direct me step by step as I cannot get it done on my own. Tks.

Regards

Johnny

    Dear Johnny Zhou3,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

I understand that you need guidance on resetting your email settings, and I'd be happy to help you with that.

Firstly, I need to clarify that you only need to adjust your Microsoft domain email (Outlook/Hotmail/Live/MSN), and third-party email accounts do not require reconfiguration.

On a MAC, you will need to open the Mail app, click on "Mail" in the menu bar, select "Accounts," delete the original Microsoft email account, then click on "Mail" again and select "Add Account." Choose the "Microsoft Exchange" option and enter your account and password to add the email to Mail.

Regarding the Outlook app, I would need to know which version you're using (Classic/New). If you're using the new version of Outlook, then there's no need for reconfiguration.

We appreciate you spend your time working on this issue. Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.  I wish you all the best.

    Best Regards,
