New Outlook - The following files couldn't be attached: file name. Please try again later.

Using the New Outlook Desktop App on Windows 11

Fresh new PC. The New Outlook works fine on my old PC.

On this new installation, I cannot attach a file - I get the message "The following files couldn't be attached: file name. Please try again later."

Very frustrating. I tried everything. Ive seen others ask the same question with no solution.

Can anyone help?

    Thank you for your reply.

    Based on your feedback that all 5 emails cannot be sent, it is very likely that there is an issue with your New outlook application, it is recommended that you reset or repair your New outlook in your free time (open Settings > Applications > Applications and Features” or Installed Applications > Outlook (New) > Advanced Options > Repair or Reset in your system), or Uninstall and reinstall the new New Outlook.

    Sometimes three-way antivirus software may interfere with the operation of outlook, if you have antivirus software running on your new PC, please disable these antivirus programs and test if it works properly.

    If the above answer still can't solve your problem, please share the latest tips with me, it would be better if you have the related screenshots, I will follow up for you as soon as possible!

    Is the size of your attachment exceeding the size limit (25M)? No

    Can the same attachment content be added properly on New outlook in your old PC? YES

    Can you share the screenshot of the related tip with me in the form of reply below?

    Not relevant.

    Do you have another Microsoft mailbox (outlook.com/Hotmail.com), you add a new mailbox in New Outlook and check if the attachment with the same content can be added properly. Yes I have 5 emails all types none work.

    If the content of your attachment exceeds the size limit, you can pack it and compress it and add it again, check whether there is the same prompt. - not relevant

    You can uninstall New Outlook again and reinstall it in the app store to see if the attachments can be added normally. - this I will attempt when i log back into the new PC. right now im too busy getting my work done on the old pc.

    Additionally, forgot to mention, i couldnt even send an email, just a plain text email with no attachment. thats why i gave up and went back to my old pc for now.

    I did the uninstall/reinstall option, and everything seems to be working (for now).

    Hopefully it stays that way. Thank you for your help!
