Booking Conference Rooms with Outlook Accounts - How Can I Share a Mobile Browser URL to a Specific Rooms Calendar?

This is essentially my end goal: Create QR codes for each conference room that a mobile phone can scan that will open that specific rooms calendar.

Process: Export specific conference room calendars to URL links. Convert URL link to QR code. Place QR code outside of conference room.

End User: Walk up to conference room, scan QR code, see the specific rooms outlook calendar for the day and book a meeting accordingly.

My roadblock is I cannot seem to find a way to export an outlook calendar to a URL link. I have full ownership of these calendars.

Another process could be: Create a URL link that opens up the outlook app (or outlook in browser) - calendar - new event - meeting details : (Specific Room)

But that string seems to fail at adding a specific room to the meeting details just off the URL link.

Any ideas how to accomplish this would be appreciated.

    Hello Logan R Testerman

Good day and thanks for reaching out.

Creating QR codes for specific Outlook accounts that link directly to a calendar page or a URL for scheduling new events with pre-filled information involves several considerations. While Microsoft Outlook does not provide a native feature to generate such QR codes directly, there are tools and add-ins that can help facilitate this process.

There are tools available, such as the QR code generator for Outlook, which allow you to create QR codes designed for various Outlook actions. In addition, Outlook platform allows users to add various integrations and tools, which might include QR code functionality. In summary, while creating tailored QR codes and booking features for Outlook accounts presents challenges, leveraging existing tools, developing custom applications, and integrating with APIs can offer effective solutions to meet your requirements. Engaging directly with the Outlook development team through Microsoft support channels might also provide additional insights or access to features currently not publicly available.

Hope this answers your query well. Please feel free to reach out if you need further assistance on the issue.

    Sincerely,

    Bertrand

    Hello Bertrand,

    Thank you for your reply.

So, is there any way to work with the outlook team in order to secure a method to create QR codes for specific outlook accounts by accessing either a calendars page directly or a url link that route to a calendar - new event - with pre-filled information?

Or is there a way to create a "bookings with me" feature for outlook accounts that are set up as rooms?

This feature would be exceptional for our business, which currently employs over 200,000 members nationwide.

    Hello Logan R Testerman

Good day and thanks for contacting Microsoft community.

Typically, Outlook does not provide a direct URL link for sharing specific calendars through mobile browsers. However, you can invite people via email, and they will receive access to the shared calendar directly from their Outlook app or web interface. **** Calendar sharing in Outlook mobile - Microsoft Support

In summary, directly sharing URL is not feasible. However, using email invites and permissions remains the most straightforward approach to allow access to your calendars while maintaining control over permissions.
