Thank you for your response, it is appreciated. I can now see the left pointing arrow but I cant click on it to see what I responded with :(

Classic outlook is much more user friendly and wish I could revert back :)

    Hello Clare Perry,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to know how to identify emails that have been replied to.

In New Outlook, newly replied emails indeed do not immediately show a prompt, but you will see the prompt for previously replied emails.

Actually, you can identify them by the icon next to the email. Emails with a left-pointing arrow have been replied to, while those without it have not. You can observe a similar design in Classic Outlook.

By the way, Classic Outlook and New Outlook are two separate products. They are not old and new versions of the same application. Classic Outlook is a subscription-based paid application, while New Outlook is a free application. Therefore, Classic Outlook has more features and is more stable compared to New Outlook. If you have a product subscription, it is recommended to use Classic Outlook rather than New Outlook."

Please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Best Regards,

The old subscibed for Outlook is erratic in recording replied to msgs. Ther has been a thread about this for many years. Microsoft never respond.
It's a 'must have' feature to see at a glance if you have replied to an email or not. SOOOOOOO frustrating not being able to rely on this basic information. I have Outlook 2016, have not moved to new Outlook (despite constant prompts from MS). Yet on my laptop, I cannot find the replied to icon to show as a column. I can still do this on my PC - both running Win11.
    User experience is underwhelming.

I'm sorry to see that you marked my response as unhelpful, even though I believe I provided the correct information.

Indeed, New Outlook cannot directly jump to the associated reply. You can group messages into conversation, which will display received and replied emails in the same group.

To switch to Classic Outlook, make sure you have it installed. You can find the option to go to Classic Outlook in the Help section of New Outlook.

The Classic Outlook icon looks like this.

The New Outlook icon looks like this.

You can type 'Outlook' in the search bar to find and run the correct Classic Outlook.
