Right-Clicking on EXPORTED Old-Outlook calendar .ics file provides choice of opening in Old or NEW OutLook. Clicking New-Outlook opens it's "Add Calendar"/"Upload from File" dialog.

The useless "Help" describes what OUGHT to happen: Before you import a calendar, you must export it to an .ics file. The exact steps depend on where you're exporting from, but if you're exporting from Google calendar, see Import Google Calendar to Outlook. The steps are similar for other calendar apps.

In The Calendar icon. Calendar, in the pane on the left below the calendar grid, select Add calendar.

Under Add calendar, select Upload from file.

Under Upload from file, select Browse.

Browse to the folder where your .ics file is stored. Select the file, then select Open.

If necessary, open the Select a calendar list, then select which of your calendars you want to add the new calendar data to.

Select Import.

Neither "Browse" nor Drag-And-Drop activate any buttons, (but the file-name appear in the box to the left of the Browse-Button). The "Select Calendar" button NEVER activates. The "Import" button NEVER activates.

    It is simply ridiculous, something as common and frequent as adding events to your calendar, is such a challenge as we approach 2025. You should be able to right click an ics file, select a calendar, or set a default, and have the event added.

    Free version?? Our company went "all Microsoft". Windows 11, New Outlook, Bing and Copilot as well as MS 365. Now we are paying the price. And paying the license fees for all the foregoing products.

    Come on, Microsoft, how about fixing this as our Holiday gift?

    Addie;

    "New" Outlook is completely worthless as an email client, I'm uninsatlling it. I'll be better off just using Old-Outlook, GMail client, and internet service provider's email clients, (sigh) . . .

    My version :
    You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1002.100 (Production).
    Client Version is 20240927008.14.
    WebView2 Version is 129.0.2792.79.

    Does N O T have a the option described in "Help" : 2 Under Add calendar, select Upload from file.

    Dear Neil McGinley,

    Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

    According to your description, this situation is indeed confusing, if your documents are confirmed to be correct. It is possible that the file you are importing is incompatible, which prevents this feature from being activated.

    In this case, you can try to provide feedback on this issue through this link: Contact support and provide feedback in new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support

    Thank you for your understanding and feedback.

    Addie;

    Following instructions like these:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/export-an-outlook-calendar-to-google-calendar-662fa3bb-0794-4b18-add8-9968b665f4e6

    Old-Outlook has no problems saving-off the calendar I want to import.

    New-OutLook can "Find" the .ics file by either Browsing or Dragging and Dropping, but, will NOT release any of the buttons on New-OutaLuck's "Add Calendar -> Upload from File" dialog

    Dear Neil McGinley,

    Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

    According to the image information you have provided, there is a problem with the .ics file you have imported, the correct and valid Type option for .ics file should be iCalendar File file as shown below: this is the reason why the button is not valid. So you need to re-export the .ics file correctly to make it work.

    Hope this help you, please feel free to let me know how it goes. If there is any deviation in my understanding, please forgive me and provide me with more details. I am more than happy to continue to help you.
