Hotmail password hack and password changes

My hotmail account continues to get hacked every 2 months or so. I get an email that says someone has access to my account and it prompts me to change password. I do this password change every time to ensure my account safety.

In addition to this, all emails I receive now include a ******@outlook.com “undeliverable” email that says the following:

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

bohd*****@hotmail.com (bohd*****@hotmail.com)The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly.

I don’t know who this email is and why it is associated with my emails.

Would appreciate any help please. Thank you!

Hi Vivian, Thank you for the information. Sorry for my late reply.I have gone into the settings of my account to make sure that the account info is as you had outlined in your previous email.I have a few questions though:

    1. I saw I had some strange Rules in my **Mail>Rules,**all of which were written in a different language and I didn’t understand anything. So I have removed all the rules (hopefully that fixes that!)
    2. Your previous email said that I should make sure my forwarding in ON. However, I think the problem was that the forwarding was happening to my emails. So logically thinking, it should be OFF. The forwarding feature of my email has been turned OFF (it was actually always off). That's correct yes?

Anyway, I have made these changes to my settings. Are you able to check if I am all good? Thanks so much!Christian Romero

    Dear Christian Romero3,

As I haven't received any reply from you yet, may I ask if you have checked the auto-forwarding and rule settings in Outlook on the web side? According to your description, this is usually a case of a hacker automatically forwarding the emails you send to his mailbox, so as to carry out some account attacks or fraudulent behaviours. Please make sure to check your auto-forwarding and rule settings and delete the hacker's email address (bohd***********@hotmail.com) as soon as possible.

I will continue to monitor your situation and you are welcome to share your progress with me at any time, I am more than willing to help you and look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards

    Dear Christian Romero3,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting in the Microsoft Support Community.

I realize that your email account may have been hacked and received a bounce letter from postmaster. Not only does this clutter your inbox, but it also creates confusion. I get into your skin and understand how you feel.

Let me explain: these bounce notifications usually occur when you send or forward an email to a non-existent address. I know it shouldn't be possible for you to manually perform this action yourself so that you can check if someone has changed your email forwarding settings and rules.

    1. Sign in to Outlook Web.
    2. Click the gear icon in the top right corner to enter the email settings.
    3. Go to Mail > Forwarding and make sure forwarding is turned on. Image
    4. Go to Mail > Rules and make sure that forwarding rules are configured. Image
    5. Go to Account **** > Automatic Replies and check if forwarding is enabled. Image

I'm sure this can't be a forwarding process that you set up yourself, so disable it and delete any email addresses you don't recognize(bohd********@hotmail.com).** And if your account settings were changed without your knowledge, it's likely that your account has been hacked. For the safety of your account, you should not take it lightly and always be wary of your hacked accounts. This is because if you keep sending or forwarding emails to an inactive address, the server can automatically determine that your email behavior is abnormal, which is exactly what hackers want to see! Therefore, you need to take steps to prevent your account from being compromised. I recommend verifying your account for sensitive information, such as the presence of alternative aliases or authentication methods.

If you suspect that your current device contains malware, we recommend backing up all important data and then running a full scan of your device with antivirus software.

Thank you for your patience and support. Please feel free to let me know how it is going by answering below.
