Sync outlook and google calendar

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community. 

I understand that you're trying to synchronize Outlook and Google Calendar and it's causing you problems, I understand how you feel.

The first thing I need to explain to you is that when you configure your Gmail mailbox in Outlook, it automatically grabs the IMAP protocol. The IMAP protocol doesn't synchronize calendars, so you can't synchronize Google Calendar in Outlook.

However, you canimport your Google Calendar into Outlook to view it.

Note: Changes made in Outlook are not sent to Google Calendar. To update your Google Calendar, open Google Calendar from your browser.

Thanks for the reply. Very unfortunate that simply syncing calendars is being made so difficult...

What about the other way around? So viewing an outlook calendar in my google calendar?

In turn, the same is true for viewing the Outlook calendar in the google calendar.

When you add your Outlook account to Gmail, it automatically acquires the IMAP protocol, which doesn't synchronize calendars, so you can't synchronize Outlook calendars with Google Calendar.

Are you using Classic Outlook for Windows?

In classic Outlook for Windows, the google mailbox is only authorized for mail.

However, in New Outlook for Windows, the google mailbox authorizes access to the calendar.

So you can try to add your google mailbox in New Outlook for Windows.

Generally, for better use of the mailbox, the adaptation is the software of the mailbox itself.

For example: mailboxes with Microsoft domain names generally use the Outlook client; Gmail mailboxes generally use the Gmail client and so on.
