I cant see any way of doing these functions.

Control-F does nothing.

Can you help please ?!

    Hello @Neil Dallison_154 and @Fatima_J

This issue was originally raised in September 2023. It's now February 7, 2025, and the Ctrl+F function within received emails still does not work as expected. Instead of initiating a search within the email, CTRL+F forwards the email.

CTRL+F has been the universally recognized shortcut for "find" for many years. Why was this standard functionality changed? This inconsistency is frustrating. CTRL+F works correctly in all other Microsoft products and most non-Microsoft software.

As of 2/7/2025 I am using the latest version as shown below!

    Microsoft Outlook Version: 1.2025.129.300 (Production)

    Client Version: 20250124006.13

    WebView2 Version: 132.0.2957.140

    Session ID: b328558d-8692-a149-a151-1cc92f4ed916

Seriously!! How could it be overlooked to be able to search within email chains? What in the literal development thought process was going on?!

I suspect this probably came about because the codebase is that created for the webmail portal, which doesn't need a search function as all browsers have that as standard. Not adding it when migrating to a standalone program was a pretty major oversight, though.

Searching for text within an email is not possible in the New Outlook. I switched back to the old version because this basic feature is missing. It feels like the New Outlook is still in a beta phase.

    Hi Neil Dallison_154

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community.

It seems that you wanted to know how to use Find me in searching Emails inside the Inbox or email.

We understand the importance of this case to be addressed. Allow us to check on this and we’ll assist you in the best way we can.

According to what I have researched the “Find Related: Messages in this conversation” feature is missing in the new Outlook. Many users have reported this issue and requested Microsoft to bring it back. However, there is no official response or solution from Microsoft yet.

As a workaround, you can try to use the “View email messages by conversation” feature, which allows you to group and view all messages in the same thread with the same subject line2. To do this, you need to:

Go to the View tab and select Show as Conversations in the Arrangement group.

Choose All Folders or This Folder.

Click the arrow next to the conversation header to expand or collapse the conversation.

You can also customize the conversation settings by clicking Conversation Settings in the View tab.

You may want to check the helpful links below that is related to the issue:

You may also want to submit a feedback from Mciroosft regarding on this issue to help us improve your experience in Microsoft.

I hope this helps you find the related messages in Outlook. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me.

We look forward to your response. Truly Yours,FatimaMicrosoft Moderator

    Hello, @Neil Dallison_154 and @Fatima_J

Has there been any updates to this BUG?

We really need the new outlook to function as it is expected. When you open an email that is grouped with a lot of messages. We need to be able to click on Ctrl+F to do a search. The Ctrl+F in the new outlook last updated 8/13/2024 version 1.2024.807.100 this option is missing.

I have been using the new Outlook for about 6 months and it is missing a lot of items.

Ctrl+F opens the forward messages. it is supposed to open a dialog box to search.

OWA in the browser works perfectly.
